The owner was very responsive and kind when myself and at least one other person got stuck in snow. Super clean room and i slept the best i have in ages. Comfie bed and room. Warm room.  Hot chocolate was also welcomed. Didn't stay for breakfast as needed to get to work. I live locally and would recommend this BB as a very good place to stay

A lovely place, friendly, welcoming staff and the most delicious breakfast I have tasted. I appreciated the small touches, homemade flap jack and make up flannel! I would definitely return again if I was to visit that area again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What can you say everything was excellent as it always is. Richard and Caroline really do a fantastic job and Duchy House Bed & Breakfast is a credit to them both. The winter offer of a cream tea was really appreciated and good, plus the snow couldn't ask for more.

Spacious warm room and en suite bathroom all in good order inc comfy bed. First class full English breakfast inc gluten free toast which was appreciated. I was hiking from Ivybridge to Okehampton across Dartmoor and this made for a perfect half way stop

Lovely House, easy off street parking,  warm and welcoming proprietors. Immaculately clean, super comfy bed and quiet at night. Great selection of teas to wake up to, 
Nice shower. Breakfast was excellent and no effort spared in attentiveness. EXCELLENT

Hosts were lovely, and the reviews about the breakfast are spot on - the full Devon breakfast was gorgeous.  Rooms were clean, comfortable and warm.  Beds comfy.  I messed up my booking dates with booking.com and the hosts were really kind and cancelled from their end (they weren't obliged to as it was a non-refundable booking).

We booked at the Duchy but were barely there. We needed to be in the area for a close relatives home-birth, but in the end we were needed from the outset. We eventually went to the Duchy on the last day, after checkout, and Caroline was incredibly sweet, making us breakfast and welcoming us to use the room to have a nap in before our onward journey home.

Great place to stay, me and my wife we really enjoyed staying at Duchy House. Amazing food, room was spotless. Very welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely come back and recommend this place.

Absolutely perfect, breakfast was amazing, flexible with check in time as we arrived late as we were driving down for work. Very friendly and nice stay despite work.

Very clean and well presented.  Good quality bed linen, towels and toiletries. Lovely breakfast and it was great not to have to pre-order the night before.  Good to have on site parking. There’s also a public car park in the village with electric car charging.

Lovely hosts and cracking breakfast

Very worthwhile.

I stayed at Duchy House for two nights as a base for my participation of the Moor2Sea cycling event together with two friends. I find this B&B to be a gem in the area and am happy to warm heartedly recommend it to anyone. A warm welcome, a beautifully appointed and spacious en-suite room, recommendations for dinners, a generous breakfast buffet including the option for a 'full Dartmoor', away-from-the-road private parking...  what have I forgotten to mention? Rich and Caroline are really on top of things and I do believe other guests will experience and conclude similar.
Tips: Stay here for hiking and biking in Dartmoor. 

Hidden gem within Dartmoor

We stayed at duchy house as we were riding in a sportive through Dartmoor..it turns out the owner is a very experienced cyclist himself and he has a great knowledge of the routes and terrain throughout Dartmoor and beyond…duchy house is a beautiful and spacious Victorian guest house and the rooms are large and comfortable,well decorated and furnished to a high standard..the bed was huge and without doubt the most comfortable sleeping experience we have encountered..breakfast is top notch as the owner also is a fully trained chef and race day he rose at a ridiculous hour to prepare speciality porridge for us ..day 2 we had the full Dartmoor breakfast experience…you have to try it…Richard and Caroline were the friendliest and most helpful people you could meet…if you are exploring Dartmoor then you should stay here

Amazing accommodation in princetown

Excellent service and hospitality from the hosts, Richard and Caroline. Beautifully clean and nicely appointed with coffee machine and coffee pods, tea selection, hot chocolate and biscuits, shower/hair gel hair and dryer. Very comfortable bed with crisp linens and good pillows.
Lovely decor in both the super kingsize room and the standard double room.
Great breakfast selection from full cooked to a smoothie bowl.
Would definately recommend a couple of night here while exploring the fabulous countryside

Great find on Dartmoor

Perfect b&b with a very friendly welcome: they were happy to fill my flasks with coffee and water, and provided a tasty packed lunch. Easy parking and absolutely delicious breakfasts that kept me walking, and a cosy room with comfy bed in a very clean room.  This is a  great location for moor walking: this place is a gem. 

Our second visit to Duchy House and we were not disappointed. Caroline and Richard offer the warmest of welcomes to everyone. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble
Princetown is at the top of Dartmoor and central for visiting so many places or for the more athletic spending time on the moor. My mother likes old houses and gardens Devon and Cornwall have plenty to see.
