Riverside Barn Guest House

My friend and i came to riverside barn for a stay back in July after it was recommended to us by another friend. We came to get some well needed respite and that is exactly what we got. When arriving we were met by Jake. He was very friendly and showed us to our room. We were both visiting this area for the first time and we wasn’t really sure where the best places to go were locally but Jake was very helpful giving us his personal recommendations of places that were nice to eat and where to find the best walking trails. We were most greatful and took his advice. The room we stayed in was the Ribble Suite. It was such a beautiful room with a huge bed with some stunning bedding that was well made and very comfortable. The sitting area to the left of the bed was nice and cozy and perfect to just relax and watch some tv. To the right of the bed there was another sofa area and a big coffee table where we enjoyed a cup of tea and a few sneaky glassses of wine. It was pure heaven, such a quiet environment surrounded by nature. We quite enjoyed the fact the room was self serve. We helped ourselves to quite a few cups of tea and hot chocolate which also brings me to our breakfast hamper. For £15 we couldn’t complain. There was a good selection of pastries and everything tasted fresh. The mini oven provided was very clean and simple to use. There were patio doors in the room which lead out to the decking. Although we didn’t sit out with the weather deciding to pour it down you could see from the windows a well kept garden and in the distance the river and greenery. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional. To say this is a property in the country i couldn’t see a single spider or web in that room or the bathroom. The bathroom although small was clearly freshly cleaned for our arrival and it was the perfect size for us. It consisted of a shower, a toilet and two sinks with fresh towels and a dressing gown for each of us. We did make a request to Jake to give us a few extra pillows and he was more than happy to fulfil our needs. We didn’t feel awkward for asking and he assured us if we needed anything at all just to let him know. We came to riverside barn to get some peace and quiet and that is exactly what we got.
