This pub was actually amazing 5 stars guys. the food is great and the people who run it are so nice. The place in clun was good aswel. The stay was great and the room was clean. I would defo recomend to anyone that likes luxary. Good stay good vibes and good time

We arrived late but David the owner was lovely and very welcoming. We were showed to our room and it was perfect for what we needed. The breakfast was really tasty

A return visit following our last for lunch in June 2022, this time for B and B. See separate pub review for dinner in the bar. 
Excellent value in the Blue Room. Spacious, clean and comfortable with the extra benefit of a sofa for your comfort. Simple pub accommodation and a no nonsense breakfast. Beautiful location of pretty Clun village. 
The village is indeed blessed with two proper locals' pubs. Pub grub dinner from the reassuringly short menu. Why go further? Seriously strong real and craft beers brewed on the premises. Featured in the main section of the Good Pub Guide and both pub and brewery sections of the Good Beer Guide.🇬🇧🇳🇿

Stayed for one night while walking. Nice pub, obviously a popular local. Large room, which was spotlessly clean and had a good information folder. Dinner and breakfast were great. Excellent value packed lunch and charming landlord.

Unfortunately we didn’t do so well in the pub quiz!

The inn was a good mix of history, local flavor, and convenience. Friendly staff and host, food was very good and made to feel welcome. The only downside is there is no lift.

This is a Fabulous pub in a Beautiful town, Just come back from a wonderful night stay here with my partner..the food and the place is run beautifully.. dont change a thing..the landlord is really accommodating in every way really griendly staff, my partner and I had lovely steaks which were cooked to perfection..and the Beers which are made on site were so fresh and spot on.. I will definitely be returning here..

Great atmosphere in the bar, and I would love to try the other home cooked food on offer next time

Great village location , nice to be able to go down stairs to eat .

Beer kept well and local breweries food excellent  recommended table booking for food as locals as well as visitors eat there.very friendly and pleasant staff and local people .Will visit again hopefully soon 

We were walking Offa's Dyke and were happy to have been booked here.  Such good people who own and run the place.  We were picked up by the husbands chef when we finished our day's walk, and delivered back to the trail the next morning.  What a wonderful dinner!  And breakfast!

Passing through as needed a one night stay to break up my journey.

Check in via the bar. Rooms are basic but clean with usual tea and coffee. Shower is very noisy! 

It's also a busy locals pub so be prepared for a little bit of noise. After a few pints of the local beers it didn't bother me too much. Personally I enjoyed the atmosphere.  Staff are absolutely fantastic and we even got a quick tour of the small brewery behind the pub. We also ate there in the evening which was fine as was the included breakfast 

You should know that Clun is a very quiet town and apart from here and the Spa supermarket and a couple of places near the bridge there is nothing else. Of course there is the ruins which is a must see.  


No fuss accommodation 

Wonderful village pub and brewery with accommodation. 

Hello, Just had very pleasant meal at this lovely traditional pub.  No Bells and Whistles as they say but a welcoming honest place.  Hubby had the steak, really well cooked, you could tell it was quality meat.  I had the Pie, meat was so tender, pastry very good.  Wish I had had the mash and vegetables though instead of chips but that was my choice.  A table near us complained about the food and the landlord was very obliging and discounted their meals.  Their food looked fine I think they were being very unfair. We would certainly come again and recommend the food, just look at other reviews, always a resounding Yes.. We wish the Pub good future.

Honest quality Pub great food.

We were walking the Shropshire Way and the White Horse was a nice place to fall into at the end of a long day's walk. The food was wholesome and the bedroom was quiet and comfortable. The bar area was popular with locals celebrating a football match win and this lasted until around 10:00 pm when it all subsided into a gentle placidity.The breakfast in particular was delicious.

Brilliant Inn!! being run great ..don't change a thing 👍🍻

One night stay in order to visit a local attraction. This is a gorgeous, historical Inn (16th Century? I believe). 

I actually booked to stay here a couple of years ago but the manager called and advised that all of his staff were off with covid19, so although we were still welcome to stay, the pub and restaurant wouldn't be open. I thought this was really kind of him to let me know-not all hotels would have done that, and I told him that if I was ever in the area again I would ensure I booked to stay here. And I did.

Just me and my Mum, stayed in the 'Red' room right above the outdoor area of the pub. Again we were warned, it was a Saturday night and might be noisy- We were part of the pub noise ourselves until about 21:30 anyway. I quite liked hearing people enjoying themselves in this picturesque village. 

We had the window wide open as it was so hot. It was not a problem at all, and after about 23:00 there was silence and we're not early sleepers. We were provided with earplugs but we didn't need them.

All staff were so friendly, personable and helpful. Very friendly welcome and Jack helped with our bags. Room was lovely, roomy and had absolutely everything we might need. The hotel booklet was more informative than any other I've had and I liked how it had the restaurant menu in it. Breakfast had a very good selection, loved the home-made preserves, selection of fruit and how you could choose your own breakfast rather than have a set to choose from.

I love old pubs/inns anyway and this is now one of my favourites. Good selection of wine and beer, comfortable and friendly. Locals were very friendly and chatty (not always the case!) plenty of seating and really lovely to sit outside on the front, nice beer garden too. 

We booked in for dinner and the service was grand even though they were busy. I love that they have a vegan and gluten-free menu, I think that's the first time I've had pudding anywhere, usually that's one course that just isn't catered for. Portions very large, be warned-we're both greedy so that's not a complaint. 

I'm an insomniac and this is the best night's sleep I've had in years, the room was just so comfortable. 

Absolute privilege to stay here and I'll definitely be back with my partner before too long. My only complaint is I wish I lived closer! 

My new favourite place

Had Sunday lunch at the White Horse and was very impressed with both the quality and price. Good amount of meat and nice selection of fresh vegetables.
They were helpful in accommodating my gluten intolerance and  were able to provide both gluten free Yorkshire pudding and stuffing, which is not normally possible elsewhere so on this occasion I had a complete roast dinner with all the trimmings. Very pleased 😀 
Will be back.

Gluten Free Sunday Lunch

Just spent a very relaxing night at The White Horse Inn, Clun. All of the staff were very friendly, the room was fresh, comfortable and had all that was needed. The pub food was good and the real ale selection was great! I’ve booked to stay again next week with my wife. I’d definitely recommend The White Horse Inn

Friendly homely pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beware if booking via a price comparison site that your rate may be for room only and not include breakfast. Slightly unusual approach to room tidying - they ask you if you want it doing rather than doing it by default. I suppose it works, but it feels a bit weird to start with.
