What a gem! The best B&B I think I have ever stayed in. Dave and Claire were excellent hosts and the room was immaculate. Great attention to detail and a comfortable bed. I had a full English breakfast in the morning which was well received. Definitely recommend.

Amazing B&B home comforts abound in this beautiful School House.
Bedrooms are luxurious with very comfortable beds and lovely pillows.
The breakfasts are delicious with homemade goodies like granola, marmalade, damson jam & homemade bread.
Clare and Dave are amazing hosts we enjoyed our stay with our friends we will see you again 2025.

Fabulous stay at The School House, and Dave and Claire were the perfect hosts. We had the  huge downstairs “dog friendly “ room, with direct access to the fenced garden.Spotlessly clean, and everything you could possibly need for your stay, plus some lovely extras - like delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake, jelly babies and bottled filter water, and of course a tray to make tea and coffee.
Plenty of lovely walks direct from the house, and Dave has  great suggestions ( and maps) to help you plan your day. Claire provided the most wonderful breakfasts, with homemade granola and bread and a good range of cooked options. 
We hope to return again to this fabulous B&B!!!

Lovely guest house with thoughtful extras provided. Excellent tea tray, home made lemon drizzle cake, fresh milk and bottled water provided in the mini fridge. Packets of tissues provided in the hall, along with a tray to accommodate muddy walking shoes!  An emergency supply of toiletries if you have forgotten anything. Large fluffy towels in the bathroom, which had a fabulous large shower. Crisp bed linen, comfy bed and lovely comfy pillows. Fabulous views from the window. The breakfast was first class - home made bread and damson jam - delicious! Plus locally sourced breakfast ingredients. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the local area - don't bother with a guide book! They have a map room though if you need to look anything up! We went to chill out and we certainly did! The only thing missing for us, was the dressing gowns which are included in the itinerary list, (unless we missed them!) but that was a very small omission. We are looking forward to returning when circumstances permit.

What a perfect stay at The School House in Chapel Lawn. If you like 'remote with added benefits' this is the place for you. The location is beautiful with opportunities for walking and wider exploring, the room included comforting home pleasures and the unexpected delight of fresh home baking (gluten free - always much appreciated) in place of commercial biscuits to have with a cup of high quality tea and coffee, and the breakfast, again, lovingly given, plenty of it and home made.
This is definitely a place that makes you feel valued and cared for.  Thank you to Clare and David for that warm welcome and friendly environment.  
If we have the opportunity to come back to South Shropshire The Old School House will be where we head to, next time with our four-legged family member ... yes, you can even bring your dog!  Bliss.

My wife and I stayed two nights to recharge our batteries after a somewhat fraught year. We were not disappointed! Chapel Lawn is a lovely, sleepy village and just what we needed. Clare and David gave us a superb welcome and are perfect hosts. Our room was spacious, warm and extremely comfortable, with everything we could need. The breakfasts were heavenly and totally unhurried. I cannot find fault with anything at all, everything was perfect.
We visited Kerry Vale Vineyard and had a trip to Ludlow. The weather was nothing sparkling, very wet, but it did add to the atmosphere of the woods, which were resplendent in all their Autumnal glory! Who needs New England, when you have rural Shropshire!

We always love spending time at the School House and the lovely countryside around Bucknell. The welcome is warm and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is a real highlight as well with plenty of choice and everything so well cooked. 

The School House is situated in a tranquil valley, as far from the hustle and bustle as you could hope for. It’s a lovely base to explore or get your walking boots on. Shout out to the Heart of Wales line and the almost unlimited variety of walks you can reach. We will be back!!

The couple who own it go over and above to make sure your stay is the best that can be. The rooms are quietly tastefully appointed, the beds are wonderfully comfortable and the location is picturesque. They offer more than I’ve ever been offered in a B&B. We were made to feel extremely welcome. 

Our stay at the School House was excellent from start to finish. We were warmly greeted and shown to our fabulous spacious room which included all the little extras we would of wished for. Breakfast was excellent and as hosts, Clare and Dave could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Attention to detail second to none!! Such a peaceful spot..very relaxing, would highly recommend.

May be a little way out of towns but we’ll worth the drive for such a beautiful place. Perfect hosts cannot do enough to help make your stay perfect and relaxing . Another fantastic stay at the School house, 3rd visit. The rooms are beautiful with lots of character. Clare and Dave are great hosts friendly and informative. Breakfast is amazing lots of choice and made to perfection. I would definitely recommend visiting the School house and we will certainly return soon.

Another amazing stay at The School house.

This was our first visit to The School House, but won't be our last!  Clare & Dave were there to meet us and take us up to Caradoc, our beautiful room.  The room had everything you would need, including bathrobes and slippers, and even things you might have forgotten! So thoughtful! The room was cosy but spacious with a super king bed made up with the most luxurious bedding ever! In fact so much so we have ordered from the same company! Clare's homemade lemon drizzle cake was so yummy with a cup of tea when we arrived....a whole cake just for us!  We had ordered a bedroom picnic for our first night as we didn't want to venture out and it was as good as going out for a meal. Excellent full English  breakfast with homemade bread, peace and quiet, such welcoming knowledgable hosts, beautiful walks from the door and the most comfortable bed ever....what more could you want? Will be back!
