Somerville House

To give you an idea, we live about 5 minutes by car from this fine establishment. This was our fourth visit in 18 months, and have always stayed in the same room. Steve & Sheila make you feel very welcome when you arrive as do the friendly staff. There is a beautiful garden to wander in or just to sit and chat. The room is sumptuous, offering a super king size bed, smart TV, lovely bathroom with walk in shower and fabulous claw footed bath. Also there is an in room fridge complete with many options of drinks (all billable) which is a bonus as you are always provided with fresh milk for the tea and coffee on your arrival. The bed is fantastically comfortable ensuring a great nights sleep. The little touches Steve and Sheila add to the room are too many to mention, and probably even over looked by us as we only stay here for 1 night at a time. But include all the usual smellies for washing, shower caps/shoe mitts! Complimentary bottles of water, biscuits a wide range of tea and coffees, mints and even an ironing board. Very thick, heavy weight curtains ensure no light gets in, even though the B&B is situated in a very leafy road without many street lights. After a very comfortable and sound nights sleep...... comes The Breakfast..... Where to start? Vast range of breakfast options. Cereals, fruits, yogurts as well as a daily prepared fruit salad, and a range of juices, followed by the many cooked breakfast choices, all cooked to order by Steve. Vegetarians are fully catered for as well. Whatever cooked breakfast is ordered it always arrives pipping hot and cooked to a high standard. We cannot recommend this B&B highly enough, and it deserves every one of its 5 star AA ratings. And as a well known Austrian would say " We'll be back"
