23 reviewsI just had a wonderful night's sleep in a cozy room in the "loft" of this inn in Llandovery, Wales. I had booked it in advance from the United States. I took the Heart of Wales line from Shrewsbury, and then it was a short walk to the Inn on the Market Square. I was greeted by the sight of tables outside on a sunny day surrounded by gorgeous plantings of flowers in tubs and hanging baskets, with little flags fluttering across the space. Then I was surprised and thrilled to see that they had vegan and vegetarian options, so I had a delicious "wild bear" burger and a glass of wine. The server responded in Welsh to my attempts to speak and encouraged me. The view of the market square is lovely from the tables outside the door. The room is up some stairs (as you might expect), but I got help with my luggage. There are skylights and an adorable shower. The owner/manager was charming and kind enough to allow me to leave my luggage until my train leaves in the afternoon. I'm about to enjoy a lunch of traditional Welsh cawl with vegetarian cheese, served by a lovely young woman who is looking ahead to a career as a lawyer!
