We stayed in a three bedroom lodge called derwen with hot tub. When we got there keys were on the door, got in the heating was on so the rooms were so warming and every where was so clean, the view is amazing, kitchen got everything you need, the hot tub was great and warm enough, all in all we had a great time here, thank the owner and will definitely be back again.

We stayed in Celyn 2 for 4 nights. The lodge was very well equipped, full size fridge freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, hob etc. The hot tub was good but not the best we’ve been in, not very powerful, still good for chilling at the end of the day though. The outside of the lodges definitely need a lot of TLC, some of the wood needs replacing and it all needs a good clean and painting, totally different to the inside which was clean and tidy. 

The park is in a remote setting, very peaceful with amazing views and the sun on the balcony all day (June). Every day we saw buzzards and red kites flying over. The park consists of about 6 lodges off a pathway, there’s enough space between them and hedges and shrubbery to give privacy. The only other thing on the site is the owners house so don’t look for a reception to check into, the keys are just left in the door. This is a great place to just relax, a couple of sun loungers would’ve been handy though. 

There’s a walk off the site following the public footpath, this takes you to the rainbow trails, you’ll need to douse yourself in insect repellent though if it’s warm. There’s other things to do but you need to drive to get there, even the pub which is only 2 miles away needs a car to get to it unless you want to dodge the traffic on foot. 

We had no issues with wifi or 4G.  Nearest takeaway is a 30 minute drive. Asda and tesco deliver to the lodges. 

Overall a very relaxing stay and a chance to switch off.

We had a lovely family Easter break in Celyn 1 for 4 nights. 2 Adults 2 Children Aged 5 & 7. It is literally in the middle of no where, so anywhere you want to go you will have to drive. We had a little wander around the area up to the woods but there wasn't really anywhere to go, we were just admiring all the baby lambs around. Super cute. 

We arrived earlier than the check in time and Richard was happy for us to check in early but we just had to wait for the hot tub to be ready. We were very happy with the size of the Lodge and how cosy it felt. All heated and ready for when we arrived. 
We had a few issues with the signal in our TV, so we called Richard and he came to help straight away. Within about an hour he had brought us a brand new TV, which was a bonus as it was a smart TV so we were able to watch Netflix instead of just free view. He just couldn't do enough to help us and was very friendly.

We enjoyed a very peaceful weekend, lots of sight seeing, walking and dips in the hot tub. We would definitely return. Birds tweeting in the mornings, the sound of running water from the stream behind, I can imagine it to be lovely and peaceful in the mornings (without children ha ha).

3. Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall - Absolutely stunning!
4. Easter Steam Train Ride from Llanfair Light Railway

We also had an ASDA food delivery which was great. We even took our air fryer with us as we had heard that the oven takes a while to heat food, which we can agree with, as it took about an hour to cook a pizza. Appliances all look brand new, apart from the Oven. 

Well equipped with pots, pans, etc. You will just need to take all of your condiments as it is just crockery and cooking equipment. A couple of tea bags and that's about it. I took extra toilet roll, kitchen roll, tea towel, dish cloth, extra dishwasher tablets, cleaning spray, washing up liquid, tea bags, coffee, sweeteners/sugar, foil, cling film, sandwich bags, tupperware. 

Overall a lovely time was had by all and I would definitely recommend and I am quite fussy. Also if you look on Trip Advisor you can get some more pictures as Home to Go and Hoseasons just use generic pictures for all of these lodges. 

There were some cob webs found inside the lodge and the decking could do with a bit of TLC but other than that, we were very impressed. Thank you Richard and Family :)

Once again totally outstanding. Was a perfect break for us. Richard and family went above and beyond to give you your privacy plus make sure your ok as well. Hot tubs were checked first thing in mornings to make sure they were perfect for your day ahead. As for value for money there is no better place. Can't wait till next year 🙏🙏

Got back today, 5th November and stayed in Celyn lodge 1 again as we have a German Shepherd dog.. Had a lovely week there. We have been going there for around 18 years, if not longer… love it there. If u want peace and quiet, it’s the place for you… Thx again Richard for a fantastic holiday… see you next year. Mark, Shirley and Storm the GSD.

I’ve just returned home from a lovely 5 day break, we had an amazing time & our two young children loved being in the countryside! They loved the hot tub, as did we! 
When we arrived the keys were in the door so we could just walk in & get settled in, the lodge was absolutely spotless & beautiful! I don’t understand some of these reviews saying that it’s dirty etc! The view is absolutely beautiful & it’s so lovely to wake up in the morning hearing the birds and sheep🥰 wales has always been my favourite place since I was young, this holiday certainly didn’t disappoint or change my views! I have a daughter with special needs, she has never been so relaxed as she was when we stayed here due to the privacy and peace! The hot tub was also great for fulfilling her sensory needs. We will definitely be returning, next time bringing my mum as she loves wales so I believe she will really enjoy a stay at belan Bach lodges♥️
The one thing I will say is the nearest supermarket is around 30 mins away so bring plenty of food with you to last you your time here unless you don’t mind a lovely drive into Welshpool to get your shopping!

Booked before the mad rush of Brits wanting to holiday in the UK. Excellent value for money! Lovely quiet location and not too far from the nearest town (Welshpool). About an hours drive from the beach subject to your route (Barmouth) 

Only gripe we had was the images showing the “onnen” weren’t the lodge itself however the lodge was still great.

Check-in was 5pm so had to spend the day keeping ourselves entertained elsewhere and checkout was early at 9am. Understandable with the current covid restrictions/health & hygiene requirements.

Would certainly look to stop here again, Wales is certainly a gem on our doorstep.

We stayed at Belan Bach in the Derwen lodge for three nights and enjoyed the experience. The lodge was very clean, modern and well equipped. The hot tub adjacent to the lodge was also very clean and was ready for use on arrival. Had a little trouble on arrival with the wi fi - essential when you have two 12 year olds ! But this was very quickly resolved by the excellent hosts who couldn’t do enough to make sure your stay is enjoyable.
Barmouth and Lake Vyrnwy are both worth a visit and easily accessible. The local pub is 5 mins down the road but the road is narrow and not recommended as a walk due to narrow road - certainly not a walk back ! So take your own supplies and enjoy the magnificent views, the fabulous stars at night and the fantastic peace and quiet

Such a peaceful place. But be mindful, it is VERY peaceful. Only a small shop down the road with other places at least 20 mins away. This wasn't an issue for us though. There is a pub not far away called the Cann office hotel. It was closed due to covid but worth going to when it reopens. 

Lodge was bigger than I thought & so was the hot tub. It was also better than I thought. With hardly any photos it did worry me but this lodge was perfect. We were situated at the top of a slight hill and the views were stunning!!! You can only here sheep & birds. 

I couldn't fault the break at all. We enjoyed a drive to Barmouth beach & Lake Vyrnwy. Both equally good days out. 

Plenty of places to walk if that's what you're into. 

I'd recommend it. We didn't want to leave, as always, time flies. Was

Our anniversary

Four friends and I stayed in Derwen Lodge recently. Derwen is three-bedroomed and the first lodge on the property and is set the highest, so has the most amazing views, and we have some amazing photos to prove it. 
From the outside, the lodge is in need of a bit of work, but once inside, its a clean and cosy and of good quality - the carpet looks new! As others have mentioned, the kitchen is quite small but it's open to the lounge, so doesn't feel claustrophobic, and is well stocked with good quality equipment. The furniture in the lounge area includes two large sofas, a coffee table and a dining table/chairs which is fine as are the beds and bed linen (good quality white cotton) and very clean. The beds are quite firm and the beds in the first room seem particularly harder than the others, so may be more suited to kids. There is plenty of wardrobe space and hangers in all rooms. The en-suite is off the master bedroom and has a shower enclosure, the other bathroom has a bath with shower over. (Be careful as its quite slippy.) Both bathrooms are modern and of a good standard, thought the toilet flushing can be a bit tricky.
In the lounge there is a TV and video recorder, though no videos. As the lodge is quite isolated I recommend taking some as there aren't that many tv channels and Wi-Fi can be a bit hit and miss.
Just a couple of gripes:
1.  No instructions for the heating, appliances or TV. which took some time to work out. 
2.  The seats in the hot tub seemed low in comparison to the level of the water. We are all quite tall ladies but we struggled to keep our heads above water level. 
3.  Perhaps a few condiments for the kitchen and a couple of extra loo rolls.

The lodge is 16 miles from Welshpool and just over a mile to the nearest pub, the 
Cann Office Hotel, (which served a cracking Sunday lunch) so you'll need to take your provisions with you.
During our stay we visited Powis Castle, near Welshpool (best hot drinks ever), Lake Vyrnwy (10 miles away) and the amazing Charlies Garden Centre (Coed-Y-Dinas), though it would be an easy drive to the coast.
Overall we enjoyed our much needed break, lovely scenery, good company and the added attraction of a hot tub.

Perfection

This would have got top marks if it wasn’t for the check in/check out times. You’re not allowed to check in before 5pm & have to leave before 9am on the day of departure. They say it’s to give the lodge a deep clean because of Covid but that isn’t true. Are lodge was clean, but on closer inspection it didn’t justify the check in times. 
We stayed in Dyfnant lodge. Absolutely beautiful. The furniture is top class. Not cheap & tacky. The beds are sooooo comfy. 100% cotton bedding as well. 
Kitchen well stocked but just a couple of items that could be added. Only 1 big mug for tea/coffee. No salt, vinegar, tin foil. Just little things which would be a lovely added touch. No hairdryer. No hoover. Disappointed with hot tub. Water was discoloured. 
Richard was very nice though & told us about a market at Machynlleth which we visited on Wednesday which was nice. 
The lodges are isolated & wifi signal not strong. Tv hit and miss so bring some board games, books & DVD’s! 
All in all though it was a lovely quiet, relaxing break. Would stay again

Relaxing

Stayed in the Banwy lodge for a week and the place is lovely.  Lovely hot tub and scenery. Out in the sticks, so you have to drive to anywhere, but we did some exploring every day and totally relaxing experience! Amusing when the sheep get out and stroll in front of you down the road! Apparently eats a neighbours flowers! Quite narrow road with bends, so good idea to drive slow.

We stayed in the Ceyln lodge and have to say that the reviews saying that it could do with some TLC were true , after a few minutes of  disappointment we decided to just enjoy it for the views over the valley and the peace and quiet which was the reason it appealed to us in the first place, which we have to say in that respect were lovely and it was nice to sit on the deck and chill out as the sun went down, luckily the weather was great and we ventured out to Black Rock sands and this was a real bonus and we can recommend a day out if the weather is good.
All in all it if it was given a bit a TLC we would certainly go again
