Merchiston Residence

We loved the Merchiston Residence. It was a beautiful suite with all the amenities. Close to shops and with easy access to transportation into the city. It feels very luxurious but still very affordable.


Film-set pretty Edinburgh building, immaculate interior, boys 13 and 9 loved their cool mezzanine level bed. Peaceful, genteel city suburb location, ideal for a family. Ample on street parking. Check in and check out done remotely but flawless and easy to manage. Concierge team very responsive to queries prior to travel.

Lovely apartment in a great location. Clean and very well equipped with good quality appliances. Very comfy bed. Easy walk into city centre but also near bus stop and lovely cafes/restaurants. Excellent value too .

It is a department to recommend and return, it is spacious, bright, comfortable, modern, sober, the bed is very comfortable, the view is lovely and although it is a bit far from the center, (30 minutes walking), the area is particularly nice to give a walk, in addition there is a very complete grocery store 50 meters away and some bars. The entry system with security code is very practical, we just lack a place to store your bags until the departure time to the airport and have the extra time to enjoy the city.


I needed to stay in the Merchiston area so this property was an excellent choice. I stayed for five nights and it exceeded all my expectations in all areas - lounge, bedroom, shower room and kitchen. The kitchen in particular was really well equipped with lots of crockery, pots and pans, oven, microwave and dishwasher. 
My room was a one bedroom apartment and was quiet with good views of Edinbrough  from the lounge.
First class stay!

Good use of space - very comfortable and quiet location. Easy access to many restaurants and a very efficient and reasonable bus service direct to Edinburgh city centre and to the Royal Yacht at Leith. Local restaurants were very good particularly enjoyed Bia bistrot.

Nice and quirky. If I had to complain then I'd say that it was difficult to turn the bathroom light on and to use the cooker. It was also a bit noisy due to late arrival of guests that tried to enter my room. It is a lovely place though and I enjoyed my stay.

Needed two large beds in same room. That’s exactly what we got. Apartment was lovely and a great layout. Kids loved having bed upstairs but still felt safe as could see and hear us. Excellent apartment for a Easter bargain. Only gripe was parking (isn’t any) however we managed to arrive late, parked outside hotel, few quid in meter and we were good till check out. Perfect. 

We booked a two bed apartment and stayed for two nights. The apartment had a clever layout with a double at ground level and a double bed on a mezzanine (too high and difficult to get in and out of for children). Everything we needed was there, comfortable lounge area and table, equipped kitchen and shower room. All very clean and nicely decorated. Wonderful location, handy for buses into the city and local facilities (little tesco and Lucas ice cream parlour just round the corner). Taxi call button in the hall was useful, taxis came within minutes and Edinburgh taxi drivers must be the most polite in the world!

Near to the city center, easy arrival procedure, clean and comfortable. But no free parking, only discount on railway station car park. On the kitchen we couldn't find cutting board and small knife. But it's not so big problems.
