Had drinks here Saturday and ate on Sunday.The madri beer was lovely but not as good as the friendly service. Everything is well organised and the staff cannot do enough to make sure you have a fab time. So relaxing and the food was amazing. The lamb suet pudding was delicious as was the sausage and mash. Plenty of veg chips and all served with a smile. Would definitely recommend x

Stayed for a full week between 20th and 27th July 2019.  This is the third time we have stayed here and like previous visits, we found everything to be perfect.  Anna and Steve are lovely hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean, well equipped and homely.  There is plenty of choice for breakfast, but be warned, if you go for the full English Steve and Anna believe in feeding you up! The breakfast is huge and of very high quality. We ate in the Hotel several times, and can thoroughly recommend the meals. All in all, we always have a great time at the Royal Oak.

We visited The Roal Oak and were most impressed with the choices available from both the standard and “Specials” menus.
Great service, excellent food, cooked to order and piping hot - big portions so no room left for puddings (unfortunately as Sticky Toffee pudding on the menu).
We’ve already decided we’re going back later this week!
Prices are very good too, dinner and drinks for got very reasonable.
Well done to the chefs and waiting staff - very friendly and welcoming.

We've been coming to The Royal Oak at Darce since our engagement there in 2014 which makes us a little biased but anyway let's say that Anna and Steve are the nicest host's around who make you feel welcome like old friends , the choice of food is amazing and beautifully cooked and we thoroughly enjoyed our choices accompanied by a lovely bin-end wine👌🏽.
  We're lucky enough to arrive when a live band were playing in the pub to celebrate the hosts 20yr ownership which made for a boozy enjoyable night, would highly recommend and we're looking forward to our return visit in the future thanks Steve and Anna. Vinny & Maggie x 

We stopped here me and my fiancé as we was meeting friends in pateley that night we actually will be coming back as we want to stop here the full day and night as the stay was clean comfortable and cosy
The breakfast was included in the price and was the best value breakfast I have had we will be back next time for the evening meal too as we couldn’t stop for that with meeting friends in the village helpful staff good range of beers excellent service

Four of us had a lovely meal here on a Bank Holiday Saturday night. We were given a lovely table in the bar and were served beer from a good selection while we checked out the extensive menu. Food and wine ordered we enjoyed our conversation in the quiet and intimate surroundings. The food arrived without undue delay and was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing and our entire meal was an extremely pleasurable experience.

We booked this pub as it was listed as Pateley Bridge. It is in fact 4 miles away, however....it is a gem of a pub
The staff were very friendly and the owners were really nice and welcoming.

We had a double room with a beautiful view. My only complaint about the room, is that there needs to be a brighter light in the bathroom and bedroom.

The breakfast was simply outstanding, we do a lot of city and country breaks and this was the best breakfast we have ever had. Quality ingredients, cooked to perfection.

Would return anytime

Stayed here for 1 night prior to a local event. Staff were extremely welcoming and the food was excellent, well cooked and plenty of it. Our twin room was more than adequate, good size with all you need for a comfortable stay. Though the room creaked a little when you moved about, what do you expect in a C18th century inn... Thanks Steve and Anna for your hospitality... and a mention for Fran our waitress who will go far in this world.
