Stayed at the Preston Sands hotel for 6 nights recently. Excellent value for money with very helpful, friendly staff. We were upgraded for part of the stay to a sea view room which was a lovely bonus. The housekeeping as exemplary with the rooms being serviced every day. Breakfast, continental rather than cooked, was more than adequate with a wide selection of quality food on offer. Overall a fantastic little gem of a hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone *****
P.S plenty of free parking at the front of the hotel unlike some others in the area who charge a daily rate to park.

I stayed at Preston Sands for 3 nights in may. and i had a lovely experience here. The room had a seafront view which was absolutley beautiful, which made me feel totally relaxed,from the outset of my visit.
I had a single room which was very clean and had a really homely feel to it. nice shower and toilet facilities, I didn't feel as if the room was lacking in any way.
There is a television if anyone wanted to take there eyes off that perfect view.
My favourite moments was sitting up in a very comfortable bed watching the sunset and sunrise, drinking a nice cup of coffee from the well supplied tea and coffee facilities.
It is a continental breakfast but there is a variety of food to choose from and to be quite honest watching people either jogging or surfing outside the beautiful sun soaked bay windows it made me feel like eating healthily, anyway.
I would recommend this hotel it was great value for money. I had a wonderful welcome from the hosts, who always made me feel as though nothing was too much trouble for them.
This is a hotel on the beach, come and feel relaxed and feel as good as i did when i stayed..

Would stay again.  Although we had a small twin room, it was seaview facing which is what I wanted.
There are lots of good things going for this hotel.  Most importantly, Dee, the woman that seems to be doing a lot for the business is a true asset.  Her attitude appears to  understand customer psychology and customer expectations quite well and is willing to go the extra.  She is either a natural and just winging it, or she has had some professional training elsewhere. Business succeeds by going the extra and not viewing customers as a pain if they ask for something.
My partner had an issue with the cable and a small TV which is his only reason for not rushing to return.  I would return since tv is unimportant to me.

Relaxing, friendly and very clean

A great stay and good value for money

Lots good here!

Stayed here for a 2 night break, only wanted a bed for both nights so it was fine.
Our room was ground floor and at the rear by the train track but this didn't bother us.
The room was very out dated but for what we paid we really didn't expect much else.
There was a smell of damp and no heat in the room no matter how we adjusted the radiator.
Breakfast was "continental", fruit was a little tired but there were pastries and toast and jam and cereal, more than enough. Hot food was available for extra cost.
The view from the dining room was lovely.
The owners were really nice and welcoming.
There was a bit of renovating going on whilst we were there; hopefully this will extend
to the room we were in.
They have entertainment on some evening (live singer/open mic nights) so that was good.
I would recommend purely for the view and reasonable price if you're not too fussy.
You can pay extra and have a lovely sea front room with balcony.

Great location, cheap and cheerful

Only giving this place a star  because I have to. We having been visiting this hotel the same weekend for the last 7 yrs and have always really enjoyed it, until now.  We always booked our rooms before we left so we had the same rooms, but on arrival one of rooms wasn’t booked, but they did find it eventually. Full English breakfast no longer available and the continental option was very poor. All meat has been removed from the menu, which I feel they should have informed us about when they changed, giving a choice to cancel. Communication here would have gone a long way.  The rooms were still ok, but entertainment was lacking, if there was any, was always done before we returned from dinner and bar closed and to top it all off we had no hot water for 2 of the 3 days, will be looking to book elsewhere next year
