An excellent Indian meal. We were made most welcome on arrival and the service was second to none. Then we had the food which was first class. Traditional Indian menu with wonderful quality fresh food.

To be quite honest and fair, I have very rarely felt compelled to write more than one review for a single restaurant or dining experience. However, on this occasion, I want again to re-emphasise just how delighted I have consistently been with both my dining in and my take away experiences at The Washford Inn, at you’ve hopefully already guessed it .. Washford near Watchet in Sunny Somerset.
Indeed, ever since The Washford Inn successfully morphed into an Indian restaurant, takeaway and pub, I have visited as often as I can and usually at least once a week. On most of these occasions, I have tended to opt for a takeaway, since I only live just around the corner in good old Washford itself and my choice of dish has always exceeded my expectations. ‘Dining in’ with a glass of wine or a pint is also very good I might add. 
The meat dishes whether lamb or chicken are incredibly succulent and spiced up or down pretty much according to the customers individual taste or requests. I generally like mine a little bit spicy, so invariably ask for extra, extra Methi (that’s not a typo by the way) .. Oh’ and with a Madras heat or kick to it.   I have also tried one of their vegetarian dishes by the way, which was a little bit special too.
Anyway, as mentioned in my previous review, the Chef is an exceptional cook and prepared to go that extra mile to please his clientele whether they are dining in or out. 
Prices are very reasonable and the front of house staff and other support personnel all seem genuinely very courteous and eager to please too. 
During my last visit, on Sunday evening 21st September with my wife, we both had a relaxing glass of wine while waiting for our meals to be prepared and we were served by the delightful Marjan who could not have been more helpful or friendly and courteous. Finally, I want to wish the Washford Inn gang all the very best and sincerely hope they keep up their good work and high standards and get the support and patronage they quite rightly deserve.

The young guy behind the bar was lovely,  so welcoming,  he made our day he was singing , dancing and very pleasing to the eye .

Food was delicious.  And great prices , would definitely recommend it.

Partner and I went for 4 nights and it was absolutely lovely! Quite a quiet place but it’s such a nice pub. Reasonably priced and the food was delicious. There’s free parking and free WiFi which is always a plus!

We stayed at the washford inn last weekend and we had an amazing experience here , the staff were extremely friendly and helpful the landlord and landlady couldn’t do enough for us and the food was excellent and great value for money, the rooms were clean and came with a beautiful view of the station to the rear of the f the hotel. We will definitely stay again

We called in here without knowing anything about it and was very happy about it! We had Sunday lunch, (one of the best we’ve had) service was excellent and we were made very welcome, pity it was the last day of our holiday, or we would have been back!

We had the best weekend. The room was clean and had all amenities. I loved the add of the cafetiere.  The shower was nice and easy to use. The bed was the most comfiest bed I have slept on! All the staff were welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much for them. The food was delicious as well. Thank you for giving us both a fun, relaxed and chilled weekend.

Great place the food was amazing. T bone all round for the 6 of us, each cooked to our request and perfect. Gorgeous, gorgeous meal. Cant stop thinking about it. Will 100% go back. Servuce was excellent too.

We have been staying at Butlins for the weekend and fancied a change of scenery. We saw this pub on the drive down so thought we would give it a try.
I am so so glad we did. I cannot stress how tasty the whole meal was. You have a choice of 2 meats optional 3rd is a extra £1.50 but you really don't need too. The beef and pork were delicious & full of flavour. What I particularly liked was all the extras, Yorkshire puds, cauliflower cheese (which was to die for) roasted carrots, tenderstem broccoli and the most amazing stuffing. It felt like a Christmas dinner. The children's portion were equally as good, and would easily satisfy a smaller adult appetite. They really provide good value for money, and certainly don't scrimp on the quality. 
I had the apple pie for desert, and again was just out of this world. And plenty of it 😊 the staff were so friendly and welcoming, truly lovely team. So glad to have come across this gem, I'm just sad we live over 2 hours away, although I am tempted to make the journey every Sunday 😂

Great to be back here and with new landlords , fabulous redecoration, friendly staff and amazing food , we had The Somerset pork , the steak and the cauliflower steak for one of us that was vegan all fantastic!! we will be back xx

Great Indian Food

Washford inn

A nice place. Lovely large room with a goid shower but turn the heating off! Well cooked breakfast with pleasant host. But. We arrived at 7pm on a Sunday evening. Check in was easy and quick. Came back into the bar with our friends who were also staying at 8 to be tolc that the bar should have been closed an hour earlier but as they were waiting for another guest we could have a drink. Another round was bought and we assumed we could sit in the bar for the evening. Half a  hour later the landlady(?)  came over and told us we had to leave as they were locking the place up for the night. Our request to remain  where we were was denied and we were told in no uncertain terms that we would have to leave. Several words were exchanged! In the end , to be fair, we were given the keys to a larger bedroom along with a couple if bottles of wine and we enjoyed what was left of the evening.  If you are going to close that early especially to guests then you should say so at the booking stage.  Its not unreasonable to expect to have a drink is it? Having said all this, it all worked out in the end but we probably would have stayed somewhere else.

Friendly service. The food was tasty and well presented. I had ham, egg and  chips which had a generous helping of delicious local ham. There was no draft bitter as they were waiting for a delivery but understandable after being closed for so long. A lot of work has been put in to making the pub COVID safe although we took advantage of the sun and sat outside. A good lunch after walking the mineral line. Will certainly make a return visit.

My wife and I popped into the Washford Inn on the first day of a week long stay in the area.
It's a lovely building with polite, friendly owners and staff that will, I'm certain, run a great place when all the covid restrictions are lifted.
When we arrived at around 4pm, there were no other customers in the pub, but nevertheless we were greeted by a young man who was polite, attentive and reassuring in relation to their covid procedures and he kindly showed us to a table and took our drinks orders which arrived promptly.
A few other customers soon arrived and were treated with the same efficiency as we were.
It wasn't long before the owner, whom I heard introduce herself as Aneasha, arrived, and she too was as attentive and polite as the young barman.
I heard her tell another customer that she took over the pub just before lockdown but she was determined to make it busy and it was obvious that she has great drive and ambition.
A party of 5 family members arrived before the kitchen opened for meals but rather than make them wait or turn them away, Aneasha told them that the chef was on site so she would get him to start early.
Despite the family having various dietary needs, this was not a problem. All of their meals arrived together and all 5 of them commented on how delicious their food was.
I know this sounds like a review that someone else should be writing, but I know when I see someone who is making a huge effort to make a business succeed and this is one of them.
We will return before we go home at the end of the week and I would say to locals and tourists alike, give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
