Invercloy Guest House

After great post-reservation correspondence and practical help in days leading up to our stay, we were warmly welcomed upon arrival by Harry, who enthusiastically made sure we were comfortable and oriented to our surroundings, and told how to best access places we needed to locate. The facilities were simple, but lovely, with lots of little touches, like dressing gowns in the en suite for our use, crisps, porridge pots (for warming in the morning) and various hot drink possibilities, including a cafetière to make a decent cup of coffee, a downstairs lounge for our use with coffee/hot chocolate machine, but which we hardly used due to the comfy arrangement we had upstairs with its gorgeous harbour and bay area views of Oban town centre and seaport. The guest house sits high above the town and has a great panoramic view without buildings in front to block that. Nice functional blinds were on the windows to black out the light for a good sleep, and yet were well out of the way when pulled up during the daytime. Our room was comfortable, had two nice comfy chairs, and other adequate furniture in the room. There was a nice en suite with shower, wash-hand basin and loo. The room was very clean and the bed comfy with sheets that also smelled clean and fresh. An ample supply of pillows and warm duvet completed the necessary items for a great night’s sleep.
