Pleasantly surprised. Booked this on recommendation by my parents that live in Rutland. The staff at check in were friendly and the room met expectations. We weren’t expecting basic breakfast in the morning so that was a welcomed addition. I’ve passed this place on the motorway a few times and would go back. The Indian restaurant seemed busy and Rutland Point had a lovely backdrop for breakfast. Will stay again.

An easy family stay

Everything at the hotel was very good. The girl that booked us in was pleasant and helpful. The room was quite large bit dated but clean. Continental breakfast as advertised was not! but was adequate for what we needed. Was the whole experience good value for what we paid...Nah Not really, We would though definitely stay here again in the future if we needed to be in the area.

We had a very comfortable night, parking at the hotel, they quickly answered the request for a room that was unplanned. We found a clean, comfortable room and a very kind receptionist. I gave a rating of 4 because of breakfast, I think for breakfast it should have more stuff, we think it's a little weak but for a lodge it's very good.

The Redwings Lodge in Rutland is a good value for money motel, situated on the A47. It used to be a Travelodge, until it changed hands.

Pros: Great value for money if you expect to use the motel as a base for a night or two. Breakfast typically included, even if it is just toast, cereal, and drinks. The bed was very comfy, and the room was very clean. The shower was warm, and the bathroom was in good condition. The ooms come with fans, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The motel has free parking too.

Cons: Breakfast is served in the reception area of the motel, so I'm not sure how the place would cope if every room was occupied and every family wanted breakfast at the same time. The parking is free, but there's an ongoing dispute with the restaurant next door at the time of writing meaning they don't share between them. This really needs to be resolved and they should work together. Finally, it could do with a bit of a refresh across the reception area and rooms, but nothing is a deterrent. These cons aren't enough to lose a star, just recommendations.

A great value motel for a comfortable stay in Rutland

Grim motel on the main road, black mold in the bathroom.
Great staff though, friendly and tolerant of kids.
They shut down the Karen in the next room with ease. This gained the motel many stars. Its mainly a place for traveling workmen.
Stock up on booze because the petrol station next door is a rip off. So is the restaurant next door. Unfortunately no fridge in room!

Great budget hotel, good restaurant next door, lovely views and surroundings! Room was big and spacious,clean and comfortable! Staff were great especially receptionist at front desk! Superb stay and will definitely be staying again soon! 


Rutland get away!

We stayed for 5 nights while working at the Global Birdfair on our stand. It was just a 20 minute drive away. The hotel gave us everything we needed. A long hot bath after our tiring, chilly wet days in the marquee was very welcome each evening. The room was spacious and clean . We appreciated the extra bed being made up ready for us. All the staff were so friendly and helpful...we especially want to thank Anna for lending us pens and the night security man for giving us breakfast ingredients at 4.30 a.m. on our last morning before driving home to Devon. The Taste of India restaurant next door was ideal for easy evening meals and the short drive to Uppingham made for a pleasant local town visit. We will return.

Convenient, friendly  and ideally located.

Ok so it's a motel so not the Dorchester but priced accordingly. Staff are outstanding in attitude and very family friendly. They quickly deleted the Karen in the next room who was verbally abusing my family whenever I would leave the room. Rooms and beds warm and clean. Breakfast included is basic. Would have been nice to have access to a fridge. The staff are what made this a 5 star stay.

Not bad 1st bed was broken but changed rooms no issue breakfast was cereal or toast 
No room service done had to go request fresh towels but again no problem  if you just want a bed for night it’s ok xx
Bathroom a bit grubby

Was ok

Location was quiet which we appreciated,staff were friendly and room was comfortable 24hr reception is great.Breakfast was free and filling (continental) and the option to have a later check out was lovely.
