Stayed here a few times now and always found the rooms clean and warm with comfortable beds. As for the bar area, plenty of real ales with 3 on while we stayed. Food, was fab. Both breakfast and even meal cooked to order. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

This is a great value Inn.  The staff are very friendly and helpful and dinner was excellent

Stayed one night on trip further a field.  Good location and breakfast

Visiting family short break but worthwhile Pub was friendly adequate for what we needed Only down was original sash windows single glazed and rattled in the wind a little But overall perfect for what we needed

Warm and friendly welcome, staff were excellent during our stay. Lovely big comfortable bed, very quiet room only thing missing was hanging space. Great breakfast and food in the evening was delicious, we hope to come back

It is a very welcoming pub with rooms. Big beds and bathroom. Very clean. Cosy bar. Excellent breakfast. Close to the M1.

Great stay, for the price it's impossible to complain! Great service, car park is safe and breakfast included. Would happily return if visiting the area again

I was only there for one night.  Close to the former Kimberley railway station. If you like train nostalgia this is a must.

Stayed over for work for one night & I would recommend the Nelson & Railway. A really nice traditional pub with friendly staff & offering great value. My room was basic but clean and comfy. Breakfast was included in the price. My only niggle is the WiFi is not great so I had to hot spot from my phone to keep a connection.

Staying for work.

Last minute stay in a traditional pub hotel. Room was fine and quite big although I didn't go inspecting everywhere.  Had a little black around the shower but hey it's not the Hilton. Food was lovely in the pub, arrived quickly, really tasty. Wouldn't stay for more than a day although the village looked quite quaint until I saw two homeless people fighting outside Gregg's

Nice last minute pub hotel

Huge bathroom that was totally unexpected . Really lovely,  friendly staff . Great stacked burger and steam pudding with custard for dinner Enjoyed breakfast simple full  English and cup of tea  just a great start to day .Nice twin bedded room .Felt really welcomed , nice overnight stay wouldn't hesitate to return.

I was able to park easily in the pub car park. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and my sisters had a full English. The food came quickly and was lovely. I would thoroughly recommend this pub and thought it was excellent value for the money.

entering the car park was a little discouraging as it's shared with a garage and the car park was run down with battered cars/parts about.  Once in the pub, the staff were lovely, helpful, the room was huge but bathroom tiny, the corridor was very dark and didn't notice a light switch.  On the plus side, the staff couldn't do enough to help, the food was amazing, the breakfast full of flavour.  We had a good laugh with the staff and will be returning again as soon as we can.  I would thoroughly recommend staying here ..... but won't as i would be worried there won't be any rooms left for us!!

Booked for two nights but due to work reasons only stayed the one. 

The room I had was clean comfortable, if a little tired. Minor issues that could easily be repaired, replaced or redecorated, just needs a little TLC.

However I have and will have no question in staying there again. Good breakfast .

Clean and comfortable.

A good old style pub with lots of little rooms. Free parking at the back. A few outdoor spaces with tables and chairs. Good sized clean rooms. Breakfast was very good, small choice but great good english breakfast. Only downside was the shower in our room was against the window and due to water running onto the window it was in a poor state as was some of the tiling.

The staff, and locals made me feel so welcome.  I stayed overnight for business and was perfect.  As a single female I was doubtful, but wow I was blown away with the kindness of all.Room was spacious, comfy bed, bedroom and bathroom was spotless.  I would definitely stay again.  Car park is safe.  They are also dog friendly which in my eyes is 10 out of 10.  The food arrived piping hot, and home cooked.

Bloody brilliant stay

Friendly staff. food good.The bedroom could have abetter layout with a smaller double bed to allow bed side tables and lamps. Biscuits left with the tea making facilities would be a bonus as would a larger tv. Bathroom was adequate. Restaurant ok with some nice menu options. Breakfast options quite limited compared with other B/Bs we've stayed in. Prefer a buffet style set up where you can choose what you want . The cooked breakfast was adequate though.

What a fabulous place to stay! It’s a 400 year old inn and the charming character of the place has been kept with cozy individual rooms in the downstairs part of the innThe bedroom we stayed in was spacious with en suite and a king size bed. We had one of the best night’s sleep we’ve had for a long one onthe super-comfy mattress .The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent.I thoroughly recommend this inn if ever you’re up this way.
