Stayed for one night as a stopover between Scotland and East Sussex.  Great location and very quiet country area.  Good welcoming and friendly host.  Continental breakfast served in the room.  very comfortable and warm. Private parking.  Only minor observation is an overhead shower which we ar not keen on.

Lovely Comfortable and Quiet Location

A very comfortable stay in a well appointed room looking out to the barn’s courtyard. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent with liquid soap and shower gel provided. Tea and coffee making facilities were very welcome and the breakfast which was delivered to our room at a pre arranged time was plentiful and delicious. The surroundings are beautiful with views of rolling countryside and the owner’s horses and dogs were part of our welcoming party. It was extremely quiet and we slept well. Comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings 

Stayed here for a wedding over the weekend with my partner and the host was really welcoming. The bathroom was great with a nice rainfall-style shower installed and the bed was like being swallowed by a marshmallow, would definitely recommend The Hunger Barn if you're looking to stay in the area!

Marvellous LGBTQ+ friendly venue

Beautiful room in a beautiful location. Host was very welcoming and accommodating when we asked for a very late check in. Lovely breakfast of homemade porridge, fresh fruit, toast and preserves to accommodate our vegan diet. Coffee and tea in the room. If I could the Hunger Barn 6 stars I would!

Excellent B&B! Would highly recommend *****

Booked this at short notice, for a festival close to Newark. Absolutely lovely place, set back from the road in a rural setting. Can be a bit difficult to find, but to be honest that's why this is such a beautiful place! Plenty of room, and located not too far from Lincoln or Newark making this a great base.
Lovely continental breakfast, and really friendly helpful host. Works very much recommend staying here, and wouldn't think twice about booking to stay again!

Over night stay

Great location with lovely host providing good clean bedroom / bathroom with fresh continental  breakfast . Pity we only stayed 1 night as we were at a local wedding party. nice circular walk from the premises to start the day . Highly recommended....

Norwell Delight !!

We were so pleased that we found Hunger Barn for our 1 night stay near to Newark. 

The accommodation is very nice situated round a courtyard each room (only 2) having its own outside seating area. Our room was very nicely furnished with a very comfy bed and   good quality bedding. Our ensuite shower room was great quite spacious and very modern in fact the whole place looks fairly new although I understand that the rooms were created from old buildings some years ago.

We loved our breakfast - continental and served to our room at a time of our choosing. We had orange juice, yoghurt, hot toast with butter and preserves, hot croissants and Danish pastries and it was all good quality. Nice coffee too!

The bonus is that it all comes at a very good price – we would love to return one day.

Enjoy it – we did!

Brilliant search no further!

I will start with only the slightest of negatives as I have nothing but good things to state!

We struggled to find the venue and a better sign on entrance would of helped, however after a quick check on Google and not relying on my finacée for directions would of helped!

Onto the positives, which there are plenty!

Hostess was amazing and could do nothing more for us, helped us with ironing facilities and even brought us breakfast in bed at a requested time in the morning. Genuinely a lovely lady and made us feel very welcome.

The facilities were modern, clean and easy to use in excellent condition... I could of stayed in the shower all morning!

I stay in bed and breakfast hotels very often with work - this time it was pleasure but it has to be THE BEST B&B I have stopped in.

Thank you for a wonderful stay - I would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet stop over with less than a five minute drive to the A1



Best ever service and excellent room

Happy and cheerful welcome by Jacquie. Had such a calm and peaceful stay in a cosy clean room (tv too:) )with a generous sized bathroom. Breakfast was outstanding! Toast pastries (were nice and warm) yogurt orange juice, everything we wanted. Were now off to take anotger walk around the area since its so quiet and refreshing. Will definitely be back

A quiet country B&B, located in a village close to Newark, Notts, and not far off the main A1 trunk road. We arrived in darkness and it was not easy to locate, not being generously signed, so as to avoid casual arrivals who are not pre-booked; and we do not do sat-nav, so that didn't help!  Once installed, we had an excellent dinner in the nearby village pub, recommended by our hostess. The Barn's stable conversion to provide very comfortable bedrooms, which overlook the central courtyard, was of very high standard.  There is no area for guests to use other than the bedrooms, so you either go out to dinner as we did, or you settle down in bed for an early night.  In the morning, our hostess serves a very generous continental breakfast in the bedroom, at a little table there for this purpose.  Quiet accommodation, extremely comfortable, well worth the price for a peaceful night away from traffic, but not too far to go back to the A1 if you are making this an overnight stop en route north or south.
