Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and good evening meal. Tranquil location, tucked out of the way off the main road, I had no problem finding the hotel.. comfy and clean well-appointed bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of parking.

We held a party for 50 friends and family at Woodlands on 21 September, the venue was perfect. The hotel has several lovely function rooms, and we had exclusive use of a large private bar area, perfect to mingle and chat, before going into the bright attractive dining room. The hotel had laid on a fantastic buffet, well presented, and delicious. The staff were attentive and helpful. 

Highly recommend this venue, which is versatile, beautiful, large outdoor terrace and plenty of parking.

Stayed for two nights in the deluxe room
Room was clean modern and the staff couldnt do enough for us

Came for a Christmas Meal last night, it turned out to be a gastronomic delight, if a a Christmas dinner could be stated as ‘Fine Dining, this scored on every factor-
Value, Quantity, and Quality.
The vegetables had been served imaginary, no scrimping on quantity of Meats.
Between our party, we must have sampled, all that was available.No complaints.
Being an ex pub tennant, I feel I am qualified to assess an experience such as this.
This was by far the best dining experience I have had. For a Christmas Meal.
Factor in reasonable bar prices, everything was complete.

Food is amazing from starters to desserts and top notch quality and the views are amazing from the outdoor terrace! 
Lovely friendly lady and we will be going back to try the rest of the menu today as amazing quality 

We have visited the hotel on several occasions,staff are always really friendly and the restaurant is very spacious..Tonight’s meal was the best meals we have had for a longtime anywhere, Kedgeree and sea bass. Both wonderful. We will definitely be back again.

Struggled to find an appropriate venue, due to Covid, too many excuses and conditions, eventually spoke to Nick at the Woodlands who was accommodating, and understanding. A date was confirmed, food booked, and rooms booked.
The facilities and food provided were exceptional, ensuring a perfect celebration, enjoyed by everyone.

The Woodlands is local to us and we’ll always have a soft spot for the hotel as well as Nerys and Nick having had our wonderful wedding reception there a few years ago. We had a great lunch today and the kids food was brilliant. The soft play is a great size, not too big. Great service, great food.

Warm welcome from hotel staff, clean hotel and good food.nice Breakfast definitely recommend.All guidelines in place to ensure we were safe it was very peaceful area and a large carpark. Dog friendly too which is good for next time and nice scenic view

Diamond Wedding Celebration

First Class Dining Experience 

Stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting nearby relatives.
The room was clean and modern, recently refurbished, but just needs a little finishing off around bottom of shower and wooden architrave around door and window.  
The staff are very nice and friendly, and will try to assist where they can.
The breakfast was nice, but as I don’t eat red meat, I asked for cooked breakfast without the meat, which came with egg, tomatoes and beans.  A few mushrooms and a hash brown would make it look more substantial.
As someone else has commented, it is difficult to find where to go when you arrive. The hall has no signs, and the only 2 open doors (leading to the restaurant/bar) say staff only.  These need to be removed.
I would recommend this for a short stay, but not enough space for clothing for any length of time.
I need to point out that the water is on some sort of pump system, which is very noisy in the bathroom, but I could hardly hear the ones in other rooms, so it didn’t stop me sleeping.  The water pressure was fine and indeed, I had a great shower, if a little noisy.

We had a lovely 2 day stay in Edern and prior to our trip tried to contact the Ship to book an evening meal having heard the food was good. Unfortunately no-one answers the phone. In stark contrast, Woodlands answer on 3rd ring and confirmed we could eat that evening. I believe it has only recently been taken over so perhaps there are plans to update in the future. Even so the staff were lovely and welcoming and the food perfectly fine. 🙂

Fantastic food with a view 

Staying locally and come to Edern every year and loved the changes at the woodlands. A beautiful outside seating area and the food is even better than I remember. A soft play area for kids with a convenient family seating room, and beautiful views
