Had a lovely lunch today at the Woolpack Country Inn at Whitley. Had the most amazing moules marinaire for starter (nicer than I've had in France! With gorgeous homemade bread. Then roast pork sunday dinner which also came with mash and 3 veg,  the yorkies were as tall as the pint glass!. Will definitely be returning to try a pudding x

We’ve never been disappointed by the food at The Woolpack. Quality, quantity, presentation and satisfaction ha always been very good. These are difficult times for the hospitality industry but the Woolpack seems to be coping well with the changes. 
We hadn’t booked and there were quite a few diners when we arrived about 7pm but they managed to accommodate us. Beer was good, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord on form and they had a ew other decent ales on drought as well as a good choice of drought Lager.
I had the black pudding and apple Bob Bon’s to start. Very tasty and the haddock, chips and mushy peas. Very light crispy beer batter and proper home cooked chips. Excellent. My partner had the salmon on risotto which she enjoyed. 
We will be back. 

Had a fantastic meal would highly recommend it and great value for it lovely inside so comfortable and staff helpful definitely be back have been telling my friends about it because it was so good and a few say they will be going 

Set off for a Saturday evening meal at The Blacksmiths arms but it was full so they recommended there sister pub The Woolpack - on arrival we wasn't too sure as not over busy, however the service and meal was lovely, my husband had the Pie and he said best he'd had in a while - we will go back to try Sunday lunch very soon.

We tea here the food was lovely home cooked served piping hot by pleasant staff the only complaint was the portions were huge for me but my husband and son made short work of theirs . We will definitely be back for more .

Lovely lunch time meal. Didn't need to book just called in. Lovely inside quite large. Staff friendly and the service was good. We just had a hot sandwich which was lovely. Going back in March for Sunday lunch. 

This was our first visit to the Woolpack. Our Plan A was fully booked but the staff there recommended the Woolpack and it certainly lived up to the recommendation. The portions were more than generous and food was excellent. The steak and ale pie was crammed full of meat and absolutely delicious. Others in our party had the sausages and the chicken and everyone agreed their meals were splendid.

Fresh food, lots of selection on the veg: carrots, cauliflower cheese, leeks in mustard sauce, carrots and broccoli. Three choices of neat, great portion size.  Lathe proper Yorkshire puddings and three choices of potatoes.
Tasty, great friendly chef and staff. Well worth a visit.

We have dined here on several occasions in the past both as a couple and with family and the food has always been very good and the staff are really friendly , this latest time was no exception our only problem was that we sat at a table which had grooves in the table top and we noticed how dirty it was with bits of crumbs and hair etc , not very hygenic.

Visit regularly and we have never had a bad meal good car parking quality real ale if not driving nice friendly staff who serve good food cooked fresh to order very good menu selection to suit all tastes

Lovely meal here on Saturday between Christmas and New Year 
My wife had the chicken and leak pie which was excellent , I had the fish and chips , but this also included another portion of chips ! Queried with the waitresses who just said that’s how it comes ! Lovely food but do not like wasting it , so lose a star , just cook what ( most) people can eat otherwise excellent

Having experienced some difficulty recently in booking a Table for two,mainly due to the fact everywhere being booked up for Valentines Weekend,I remembered passing some road signs for the Woolpack Country Inn on my Travels recently and so decided to give them a call with a view to reserving a Table.When asked what time we would like to dine I was more than pleased when my booking was confirmed.On arrival we parked to the Rear of the Building and the Impression from the Rear was quite misleading,as the image from the Window made it appear quite empty.Non the less once inside,the interior painted a different picture,as other guests were also Dining,with some at the Bar taking a Drink or Two,and we were met by who I can only assume was the Landlady who was very pleasant and reassuring owing to us being slightly late.The Inn is quite Spacious inside and once you have looked at the choices in the Menu,your Order is taken at the Bar.The Menu has quite an Extensive Selection and having both fancied a Starter we both chose the Homemade Soup of Potato and Leek,which arrived Smooth and Hot,with a Warm Chunk of Light Bread.This was Nice and Tasty and when it came to our Mains we both ordered the 12 oz Flat Iron Steak cooked Medium to Well Done,with Chips and Vegetables.After our Starters had been cleared from our Table,we were told by the Landlady that unfortunately there was only 1 Flat Iron Steak available,and due to it being an error on their part offered us a Fillet Steak as Replacement at no Extra Cost.This I feel was a Nice Gesture shown and very much appreciated.Our Mains was more than ample and the Steaks both cooked to perfection,and with so much on the Plate we both had to leave some.So when after clearing our Table and asking if everything had been to our satisfaction,and at the same time as asking if we would like to try some Desserts,we had to decline as our Bellies were fit to Burst.The Price of our Meal and Drinks were reasonable too being just £52,so considering we could not Book a Table locally, we ended up taking an unexpected ride to the Woolpack Inn and was more than Satisfied with our Food for the Evening.Worth a Visit.!!

Called mid week with a friend, lovely food had the two course special, my friend had vegetarian, we both enjoyed our meal, and also bought home made scones to take home, together with fresh eggs! Well worth a visit
