You want to stay at an English Manor House? This is the place to do it!
You will find a magnificient house (also magnificiently situated) with the typical English flair. The view is breathtaking; the gardens and the surroundings are perfect for shorter strolls or longer hikes. You cannot only see the sea from your bedroom window - it is also only a short walk away through the lovely village of Bossington. 
Rooms are clean and decorated with care; the staff is extremely friendly and forthcoming!

Thus, a MUST-stay on any travel through Somerset.

We spent a week in a self-catering apartment and had a wonderful time away from the stress of daily life...we explored the surrounding areas and relaxed while having tummy cream teas! The house and gardens are gorgeous and invited us to several hours if lying in the grass reading a book...thank you for a lovely time!

I have stayed here a few times on my own, but this time I came with my family. They were amazed by the beautiful setting of Lynch Country House. The apartment was spacious and had plenty of bedrooms and beds. A large living room with TV and dining table was super for relaxing in. The kitchen had a fridge and a dishwasher. There is a tennis court and lovely gardens surrounding the house. The managers were very friendly and helpful.

The view from the terrace of Lynch is breath-taking whatever the weather.  The accommodation is spotlessly clean but so straight out of the 1980s it almost qualifies as retro.  The managers are very welcoming and obviously work extremely hard to keep the house and grounds immaculate.  Very quiet location that is ideal for relaxing and also well-placed for discovering Exmoor on foot or by car.

Gem in Somerset

a beautiful spot...peaceful and quiet

We have just returned from a very enjoyable week staying at Lynch Country House.

The position of the house is lovely ,  It is a beautiful building , built in the 'Arts and Crafts' style.  
Terrace and views cannot be faulted.  A truly beautiful setting.

The managers , Sandra and Martin are working very hard to make the guests comfortable and keep the grounds very tidy and neat , not an easy task.

 .                                                          Unfortunately they are fighting an endless battle against damp ( In the  largest 'Bossington' apartment) 

Guests pay extra for the use of electricity ;   which includes all heating and hot water'.
 .   
Consequently , most guests will not open the windows to gain some ventilation. As there is no background heating whatsoever. 3 of the bedrooms and the kitchen in this apartment face north/East  with no sun entering the rooms at any time.

The weather was perfect while we were there , but the 2 double bedrooms had a rather unpleasant smell pervading which was difficult to sleep with .

We spent .several happy hours each afternoon sitting on the large terrace overlooking the garden and countryside.

It seems that the damp problem is  insoluble unless the owners are prepared to supply at least a modicum of free low-level heat in the bedrooms.
