The Pigs

I booked this for my husbands 50th Birthday and we wasn’t disappointed. 

I paid extra for the room to be decorated with balloons and to have cake for him.  The room was lovely and clean, the spa is a beautiful addition to have something special. We loved the spa, sauna, drench shower and fire pit. 

The hotel supplied marshmallows for the fire pit, free shortbread, extra milk if needed and more wood in the corridor. 

We booked to eat in the hotel and wasn’t disappointed. 

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we enjoyed everything about it and would return in an instant.

Lovely time away. Didn’t quite understand the additional charge the app ads to order room service. It doesn’t go to the team as a tip it’s an app charge, this should be reviewed as in sty in the sky we didn’t have a phone to ring through to order but in the other room, we did. All in all, an absolutely lovely stay, excellent food, excellent staff, lovely massages. Top get away.

Me and my girlfriend stayed the night for our anniversary and it was exceptional!
Upon arrival and throughout the entire stay the staff were super friendly and very helpful.
We stayed in the Spa Suite and it was amazing I upgraded for the ‘Romance package’ which includes real rose petals, a single red rose and two mini prosecco which my girlfriend loved. All the facilities in the room were easy to use especially with the information folder which tells you how to do it! The Bluetooth speakers are a thing we didn’t expect and enjoyed being in the room while we relaxed in the sauna listening to our playlist!
We had dinner and Breakfast while we stayed. Breakfast is included in the stay and was gorgeous. Dinner was extra but if you have a Norfolk Passport card you get a discount, also amazing! Plenty of Gluten Free options too!
We also had a massage after breakfast. I’d recommend doing it then as you’re too busy using the facilities in your room when you first get there. Both ladies were very friendly, especially Jemimah who most importantly gave a great massage.

If you think you may enjoy a sauna and a steam room in the privacy of your own room then book the Pigs, it's such a good idea and it's done extremely well at a good price.
The staff are all polite, friendly and helpful, the restaurant area is well done, the food is good and also priced well.
I could do without the dogs and it would have been great to play pool or the arcade machine but I didn't have coins etc, maybe they could be free to use?
We enjoyed reading the negative comments on the way home, they really show how unreasonable people can be and how difficult it must be to run a hotel/bar/restaurant when you can't actually vet the people who are coming to stay.
If you end up leaving a negative review about the Pigs you should really stay at home and shout at the TV and perhaps consider giving up your right to vote.

Faultless!

Fantastic food and service. The two Front of House staff provided a warm and welcoming service. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent food with good quality local ingredients cooked to perfection. We will return shortly. Loved it! 

Been meaning to go here for ages and was a convenient stop on the way to Holkham Hall. Plenty of parking space for a relatively quiet lunch time. All the staff were welcoming and the food and service were excellent. I had pork and my wife had mackerel and neither disappointed. We will definitely be back and perhaps stay over!

Amazing stay for my boyfriends birthday at the Pigs. Would absolutely recommend! We stayed in the spa suites and I can honestly say it’s one of the best/nicest rooms I’ve stayed in! The sauna and steam room are easy to use. The room is well equipped and they provide everything you need! The food in the restaurant was of a high standard and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Lovely lovely place!

Me & my husband went for lunch as part of Norfolk restaurant week. Was very impressed!! The place is lovely, the staff were very friendly, helpful & professional. The food was AMAZING!! I would highly recommend it & will definitely visit again.

My fiancé and I had the best day yesterday at the pigs, we had a lovely massage, followed by the sauna and steam room in our own room, then a meal and then breakfast in bed this morning. All of it was perfect

Whilst visiting North Norfolk on holiday we booked into The Pig having heard positive things. The menu looked tasty - it’s not just pork! And catered for all diets. 
We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table in a beautifully decorated room with a lovely log burner 
Service was friendly but not very knowledgeable. Hubby and I enjoyed the wild mushroom and chicken wing starter and they arrived quickly. For mains we had the pork belly and the mushroom hotpot, as the servers knowledge of the menu was not great we ordered sides but they weren’t needed as the size of the mains without would have been fine. Consequently we didn’t have room for dessert.

A lovely stay at a unique destination

I’ve probably visited the pigs to stay 3 times and to eat easily 7. 

The concept is amazing, rooms are fantastic and all the details are brilliant. I won’t review this because I only went for lunch today. 

Food is phenomenal, honestly amazing. However we do feel that the service always lets them down slightly :( it just lacks lustre. You have to constantly ask for things as no one ever seems to offer or check. 

We were shown to our table and there was one menu on the table, when the waitress eventually came over after about 20 minutes for drinks I asked if this was todays menu, yes it was, could we please have a few more for our party of 5 and do they have a kids menu please. Waitress returns with one kids menu, between two kids, activities on the back of menu but no crayons. It’s fine, we’d bought our own colouring but I just think it’s not the point. 

Drinks ordered, they arrived and order taken. Starters arrived and so lovely. 

Kids food arrived, no sauces for kids, had to grab someone and ask for sauces as no offer (I wasn’t at the table when the food came or would have asked). 

Starts finished and we probably waited another 20 minutes for the plates to be taken away another 25 minutes for mains. Again, no offer of sauces and had to try and grab someone for mustard.

Finished and waited around 35 minutes for plates to be taken. When they were asked for another drink which never arrived and no ask for desserts. Went to the bar to get a drink. 

Kids got their desserts and asked for spoons for free pudding table and was told we needed to ask waitress first (very politely mind). Apologised and explained we wanted to go for the pudding table. 

Probably another 20 minutes after finishing and managed to grab someone for the bill. 

The staff are beyond lovely, they truly are (we did still tip over 10%)  and I write this review with nothing but a hope it’s taken in and the staff just become a bit more friendly and enthusiastic. I hate it when the staff are all over you and you feel rushed but a middle ground would be brilliant. 

As I said, amazing and couldn’t rate them more so I hope this just helps them slightly as reviews should.

Lovely stay!

Great meal and friendly service

Incredible place ! Probably the best place we’ve stayed - (we’ve stayed in a lot !) everything was perfect! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Honestly cannot recommend enough.
The rooms were amazing, bed was probably the comfiest bed I’ve experienced in a hotel. Loved how even the speakers were wired in to the steam and sauna. The place was immaculate - did the finger test and not one bit of dust. 
Food was amazing - obvs we over indulged but what are birthdays for! We had a back neck and shoulder massage & we both said, again, one of the best we have had. Love all the little touches like the fire wood, marshmallows and sweets, blankets in room for snuggling outside in patio area.
Breakfast - amazing ! The only downside was unfortunately the hotel didn’t receive my early check
In request however they were quick to turn the room around and get us in much before 3 so we were still happy. Not sure any hotel now will match this place - absolutely insane !!!

This place is insane! Cannot recommend enough

Had an excellent vegan stew at The Pigs.  It was butternut squash, pak choy and other vegetables in a superb sauce/gravy.  Just the sort of meal I love and had a really unusual flavour - delicious.  The staff were great, attentive and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.  Please keep the dish on the menu - I'll be back, thank you for a lovely evening.
