A CHARMING COUNTRY HOUSE set within green fertile countryside enjoying distant views to loch Linnhe. The hosts Niall and Anita were charming and very attentive.The hot smoked salmon with scrabbled eggs was delicious! His Lordship Niall shared some fascinating but true stories about his ancestry along with the island's rich history.There was never a dull moment. We were fortunate to stay during some pleasant weather of which coupled with no light polution provided us with a rare opportunity to star gaze. That evening to enhance the experience Niall turned off the exterior flood lights and proceeded to give an informative astrology lesson. "All part of the service" We completed one of the beautiful 10k circular walks as recommended by Niall and wished we had more time to stay on the island. There is so much to see. We left our car on the mainland at Port Appin and used the services of friendly Lismore ferry. For the summer season the last ferry back to Lismore is 9.30pm. We were sad to leave Bachuil Country House.
