Very welcoming host and comfortable room. Excellent food and plenty of choice with large portions. Deep bath with loads of hot water. Take your own toiletries.

We loved our stay at the Britannia Inn. The room was spotless and the bed so comfortable. Ann was so welcoming and friendly which added an extra special touch to the stay. Oh and the food … amazing!! I will be back for sure.

Fantastic little find. Ann and staff made us very welcome and were more than happy to accommodate our needs. Very quaint inn. Comfortable beds great food and a wonderful ambience.  Would recommend and return here.

We didn't stay at this hotel, but we stopped for food, the chicken curry was one of the best I have had!! We had a wam and friendly welcome. 

I cannot praise the food enough. 

We will definitely be calling here for food again when we are in llangollen next

I was very fortunate to discover this charming inn by chance when needing somewhere to stay whilst attending a wedding nearby. 
I felt completely relaxed, comfortable, safe, cared for and well fed. The staff are delightful and my spotless room had an excellent bed and plentiful hot water. 
I would definitely stay here again if and when I return to this beautiful part of the UK.

What a beautiful find. A very traditional place that just does what it says on the tin. Super comfy bed  and just fantastic food! Stayed here for a night in August and decided to sit outside for a couple of drinks before dinner to enjoy the lovely view. Chose fish and chips for dinner for me and hubby which was perfect, compliments to the chef. After a perfect sleep, woke up to what must be the best breakfast we have ever had. This is where myself and hubby differ … he prefers quantity, whereas I prefer quality. Must say, breakfast served us both very well. It was extremely generous and the quality first class, possibly the best breakfast we have ever been served, and we have travelled!!  Huge thank you to the lovely staff at Brittania for making our weekend perfect. Will definitely be back in the near future.

Been here over few years for meals, always great, this weekend fab as usual,  best  place to eat in and around Llangollen, allergies, no problem. Lady who served  us was excellent, nothing  was too much bother, we go to Llangollen every  year and always get  friendly service at this pub  even though we are not local

I stopped at abfew restaurants on my way up horseshoe pass and wasn't given a great welcome. I came to the Britannia Inn and straight away I was given a friendly welcome by the woman who was serving. She gave me a table for one. The young lad behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the chicken burger and it was really fresh and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend and I would like to thank them for the great hospitality. (BTW I am such a fussy eager so if I say food is good it most definitely is)

This was not our usual type of hotel but pleased we stayed. The owner could not have been more helpful and as we were up early made us a lovely packed breakfast with sandwiches crisps and water. The room was very dated but it was clean and it had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Pleasant surprise.

Pleasant surprise

Stayed at this hotel 2 nights for the Bank Holiday whilst we toured round on our motorbikes. 
Ideal base/location, friendly staff and lovely food served. 
Stayed in room 7 at the side of the hotel overlooking the store room. Very small, dated room and could do with a refurb. 
Disappointed that the bar / restaraunt closed at 4pm on a bank holiday Sunday due to staff shortages. 
Would stay again, but would book a different room. 

Exceptional quality food

me & my 2 daughters had dinner in pub, it was a very enjoyable experience from start to finish, after being greeted by a very nice lady behind the bar , we was shown to our table, by the window with fantastic views, starters were amazing & main meals were humongous in size & tasted fantastic, all credit to the staff at the Britannia for  a very enjoyable meal. thank you😁

holiday dinner at the best food in llangollen!!!

We had a lovely Christmas meal here on December 9th. 12 of us were greeted warmly by the owner and her staff. The food was excellent, plenty of it with a large variety of vegetables. Christmas dinners have always been good at The Brittania but they really excelled this year. Even the crackers were of a high quality. Thank you to all the staff for giving us such an enjoyable lunchtime.

Stayed at the Britannia during a weekend’s kayaking on the River Dee around Llangollen.

Very quiet during our stay, but delightful all the same. Olde Worlde charm to the bedrooms, but clean and comfortable. Bed very comfy and warm, much needed after a day on (in!) the water.

Food wonderful - steak and ale pie rich and hearty, and breakfast also fabulous. Cereal, toast, an excellent cooked breakfast and fruit juice.

Staff friendly and accommodating.

Perfect base for exploring Llangollen

Due to recent events it has been a while since I have stayed at the Britannia Inn as it was closed for a prolonged period during Covid. 

However, I spent a couple of nights there at the start of July. 

Still as good as it was when I last posted a review. Excellent food and accommodation. Excellent Value for money too. Fine views from the front room. My favourite is Room 6 where you can gaze down the valley from your bed! Anne and her staff lovely. Breakfasts large and filling. If you have not been you should go. Highly recommended - just 5 minutes drive from Llangollen and brilliant location for visiting the Llangollen Railway and local historic sites.
