The owner was very helpful and the Guest House is in a very good location.  It's very close to the Cathedral and Castle.  The only issue we had was trying to find a place to park close to the property.  I would highly recommend and would stay again.

We booked a 3 bed room spontaneously and were really impressed with the guest house! Check in was easy and we got a text with the door code and straight forward instructions on where our key was. We also got an extra bed in the room so that was an added bonus. Got little biscuits in the room when we arrived which were a lovely touch and the shower was amazing and so big!! Breakfast was also included but we weren't up early enough to enjoy it but I'm sure it was amazing.
Would definitely stay again and there was enough free parking around the guest house. 10/10

This guest house was clean, warm, welcoming and comfortable. There was a great choice from the continental breakfast which included scrambled or boiled eggs on toast. The rooms were cleaned daily with milk, tea, coffee and biscuits topped up. 
I would strongly recommend this guest house to others. The location is also perfect with everything you could need close by.

Myself and my partner booked this quaint guest house last minute. The location was very good (top of steep hill) Parking was very good as arrived early and easily got one of the 4 spaces behind the building. Our room was ready early when we arrived so was able to check in straight away. Room was a good size and bed very comfy. My only disappontment was that the room we had (room 2) was on the ground floor next to the front door and busy road so it was quite noisy.
Breakfast was lovely. Continental with choice of scrambled/poached eggs too.
We would stay here again but in a quieter room.

Lovely B&B in a great location, just 5 mins walk from Cathedral/Castle (Bailgate area)  Free, but limited Parking available to rear.  Excellent and smooth self check in system. Lovely breakfast.  We will definitely return and stay for our future visit later in the year.

Everything was amazing from booking to the stay, managed to get a room at extremely short notice, the owner was really friendly and helpful.
The room was a nice size and very clean
Would highly recommend and they are also dog friendly which is lovely.

Pet friendly, located a few minutes from the centre, 
Accommodation was spotless, white cotton sheets, fluffy white towels, bed that are so comfy, staff that are so friendly and helpful...nothing was to much trouble at all.
Breakfast catered for every possible taste - fruit, cereals, yogurt, toast, full English, fruit juices, water hot drinks.

Could not find any faults what so ever

We had the pleasure of staying here last night and was more than surprised at the standard of the place . 
Checking in was very easy , the room we stayed in was large and very comfortable and very clean .
The bathroom was nice with the option of a shower or bath . The fan in the room was a nice touch given how hot the weather was .
Breakfast was very tasty , all cooked fresh for you with a excellent choice to suit everyone.
The owners are very friendly and approachable .

This is an immaculately presented guest house with very friendly staff. Room was modern and well-equipped. Within walking distance of Lincoln cathedral and old town and there are pubs and restaurants nearby.

I booked a last minute family room at the Newport for a night to celebrate my friend's 30th. We were contacted quite quickly by the owner who asked if we would respect their quiet policy, which did seem odd at first but also totally understandable as we were a group of 4 adults sharing a room. We're not exactly loud people, but I was a bit worried that we might have to return to the guesthouse earlier than planned in the evening. Thankfully I had nothing to worry about.

We arrived early and parked a short walk away on St John's Road for free, and returned later in the day to pick up our bags and check-in at 3. Our room was #3 - a family room with 2 separate bedrooms and a bathroom, which was perfect for us. The decor is modern and room extremely clean and bright, and the bathroom was fantastic with a large shower. Beds were comfy and thankfully both sides of the room had a fan to help us deal with the crazy heat! We did end up returning to the room a little later in the evening but made sure we were quiet and it was never raised as an issue.

After a good sleep we all were treated to a great full English before checking out. Service was great, with everyone smiling and friendly, couldn't fault it at all!

After checking out, like an idiot I realised I'd left my ear plugs on the side (the jewellery kind) in the bathroom, thankfully when heading back to the car I phoned the guesthouse and somebody let me back in to get them, which was really kind of them.

All in all we had a great experience at the Newport and would definitely come back again if we ever need to stay in Lincoln. The only small issue we did have is that the latch on the sliding door to the bathroom was really awkward to close, and in a room with 4 people all needing privacy we often needed someone to come help close it from the other side!

A lovely guest house near to cathederal and castle

Great location for the price of the stay. There's on street parking around and finding a spot wasn't too bad. There was no reception on when we arrived but access was easy, just collect your keys from the dining room, they're in an envelope with your name on. Our room was on the top floor but it's not a trek. It was clean and very hot, which is not a complaint. Nothing worse than a cold damp room which you can never warm up. Bathroom was really good, my wife loved the deep bath and the decor too. Tea and coffee making facilities available in the room. We didn't stay for brealkfast so can't comment.
Cathedral and castle witihn 10 minutes walk and a host of pubs and restaurants close by, Spanish and Thai just to mention two. Even the walk to Brayford Wharf isn't too bad, about 20 to 25 minutes although you do have to tackle Steep Hill. Overall, even though we only stopped one night, it was everything you needed and yes you can stay nearer the centre but parking and price might not warrant it. We would definitely stay again.

Great location

Came for the 1940s wkend and stayed over night . A very lovely room very light room . Very comfortable bed . But unfortunately what I didn't like was that the towels smelt of cigarettes not very professional in my opinion.  But it wouldn't put me of stopping again . Breakfast was lovely . Nice friendly staff and owners

Little gem

This is a well presented guest house ideally positioned for tourists to visit the uphill historic part of Lincoln as it is only a short walk from the castle and cathedral. The decor is attractive, the staff friendly and the breakfasts good . Unfortunately  it was a warm weekend when we visited and the west facing room was very hot so we had to have the windows open. The traffic noise outside particularly on the Saturday night made it almost impossible to sleep. Otherwise it's a good place to stay and reasonably priced but bring earplugs!
