Pleasant stay with clean, comfortable accommodation. En suite room with surprising touches such as robes, mini fridge and even a sewing kit! A warm welcome on arrival from a friendly host and a well-cooked plentiful breakfast the next morning. No hesitation in staying again!

We were a little skeptical booking a room here but we were pleasantly surprised. The owners were friendly and good fun and we were made to feel very welcome. An amazingly cooked breakfast is included as well. We wish we’d had dinner here because I’m sure it would’ve been lovely. The room was clean and tidy with excellent heating to keep us warm after being out in the storm. We honestly couldn’t fault it! Hopefully we will be back.

We only popped in here after being delayed on the motorway and missing lunch. We both had a beef baguette and chips which was absolutely lovely - with real chips too! I will definitely be making a point of calling in again when I’m next in the area!

We have visited here a few times in the last few weeks as a family , the staff are very welcoming and the food is lovely .We will definately be going back...i recommend the steak pie ( massive ) and very tasty.

On our way down to Manchester, my Girlfriend and I decided to stop off for some lunch and headed towards Northallerton. We pulled over at the first pub we saw and this was The Old Royal George. 

At first glance it looks like a real country pub and this is bourn out inside, with old/antique decorations all over. The cleanliness of the pub cannot be faulted. 

We ordered 2 baguettes, one sausage and onion and 1 garlic rubbed sirloin steak. These came fairly quickly despite having to be cooked fresh to order. Now I will admit to be a bit wary of the steak sandwich when it came, I thought it would be chewy and tough, bit nothing could have been further from the truth. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. The accompanying chips were excellent and my GF reported no problems with the sausage and onion baguette. 

I would definitely recommend a visit.

Had the 12oz rump cooked perfectly very tasty, the mrs had the same.
My parents had the steak pie also perfect.
Great service and atmosphere 
The only bad thing we live 5 hours away so can't come back often enough.

Just had a meal with my wife and this is pub food with the homely feel. This is great value, great service and a great little pub. Was the server's first day and she was doing a fantastic job too. Will return that is for sure!!! 

Me and my husband visited here today whilst on a day off and had an incredible 3 course meal with 3 drinks for only £20.
The food is all homemade and is excellent quality.
Alongside this the service was lovely.

All staff could not do enough for us, rooms very clean , food excellent , what more can I say, will be defo going back, taxi to northallerton Saturday a lovely little market , and the Breakfast was brilliant , so if u in the area looking for somewhere you won't be disappointed staying here .

Room comfortably furnished and nice temperature Quiet surroundings. All usual facilities plus mini fridge with milk and bottled water. Good food available at reasonable prices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Generous tasty full English breakfast included
