Came to stay when we celebrated my Mums 90th birthday. 

2 night stay. Beautiful clean, modern room with huge comfortable bed. Views over the Dales and sheep with their lambs right outside the window. Breakfast was great, not huge portions but tasty. Fruit, cereals, toast and cooked breakfast of your choice. They even had veggie sausages! Great base for exploring. Highly recommended.

Lovely little find, really good location near Leyburn but in the countryside. Nice and friendly owners. Breakfast delicious, all home made products used. Only stayed for 1 night. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy our beautiful countryside.

A beautiful spot. Comfortable and clean with lovely friendly hosts. Pot of tea and cake on our arrival and a full cooked breakfast before leaving. Thank you  Chris and Peter for making our stay perfect.

my husband and myself ,have just spent 2 nights here . the host chris was there to 
 greet us,and showed us to our room . which was spotlessly clean . lovely comfy bed .Breakfast was amazing all fresh ingredients very thing you could possibly want .even when i asked peter the husband who waited on  . for something extra is was no trouble ,lovely quite place with great views for sitting out and relaxing.Will definateley be returning .thanks for a lovely weekend Lynn Gary of boston spa yorkshire

Stayed at Curlew Barn for one night and was made to feel very welcome by our hosts Chris and Peter. Lovely room, tasty breakfast and very dog friendly. We had sheep for neighbours, and the location was excellent We will be back soon. 

I stayed with my partner for one, during a weekend trip to the dales. Set down a small single track lane surrounded by fields. We stayed in the downstairs room which had a rather cute addition of morning visits from the sheep in the surroundings fields who came to lick the dew off the window. 
The hosts Peter abd Chris were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. In hindsight we'd wished we'd booked to stay for longer.

We had a delightful stay at Curlew Barn with our dog. 
The B & B has a stunning setting and is on a very quiet road so you have total peace and quiet. The view from our room was delightful over the fields, we couldn't bring ourselves to close the curtains. 
You are also well looked after - the owners are such a lovely couple and really helpful. They recommended a nice walk for us and helped make our dog feel as welcome as we did. 
The measures they have in place re covid-19 seem very robust, and the room was very clean, so you can relax and feel safe in the beautiful surroundings.

I stayed 1 week with my charming hosts, Chris & Peter. The room was very comfortable & breakfast was delicious. What made this visit so exceptional was the personalized tours we took for 5 days. Each day was a full day's drive seeing the dales & moors, Peter pointing out the Herriot sites from the books & the series. We also went to the Lakes District & Beatrice Potter house.  I consider this to be the best vacation I have ever taken because it was a dream  come true to be in the world of James Herriot. Peter enjoys showing off the area & is very knowledgeable of its rich history. I hope to return for another visit soon.

We travelled from Canada to visit James Herriot Country which was a #1 bucket list trip for one of us. Peter and Chris were wonderful hosts. We were so appreciative of all the little extras, especially the sandwich and wine at the end of our first day, which was a long one. Breakfast was spectacular, our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the sheep tapping on our window and “Willow” the resident dog! Our stay wasn’t long enough and we certainly hope to come back. The location gave us a lovely glimpse of small village living in North Yorkshire!

Fabulous experience

We had the most wonderful weekend in the Yorkshire Dales staying at Curlew Barn. Chris and Peter are superb hosts, nothing is too much trouble, they are warm and very welcoming. 
Our room was clean and comfortable over looking farmland, stunning views and in a quiet location. It was a bit of a squeeze with 2 of us and a big dog, a bigger room would have been better but it didn’t spoil our stay. 
Breakfast was plentiful with a choice of full English, fruit & yogurt, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs, pancakes and more which are all freshly prepared.
Curlew Barn is a fabulous place to stay if you’re wanting to explore parts of the Yorkshire Dales, we would most definitely recommend to others.

Wonderful weekend

We booked a last minute weekend break at Curlew Barn and had a wonderful stay. Chris and Peter are lovely hosts and made us and our dog feel very welcome - our dog was even given his own little breakfast in a special dog bowl each morning! The barn is in a stunning location surrounded by fields and sheep, and it was so peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with fabulous views across the countryside.Breakfast was wonderful and really set us up for the day. Leyburn is a short drive away and has lots of lovely shops, cafes and pubs. We also visited the small village of Reeth for a lovely walk and dinner in one of the pubs. All in all  a great weekend. We would definitely like to return in the future for a longer stay.

Lovely place to stay

We arrived after a walk around Aysgarth Falls with two damp dogs to scones, chocolate cake and a genuinely warm welcome! Lovely setting on the edge of the Yorkshire moors, very clean, sheep knocking on the window...ha ha.... and a wonderful breakfast. Felt really at home immediately and the dogs loved it.
Really nice local pub in the village as well. Just a lovely weekend.

Very welcoming

Very nice accommodation set on the edge of a little Hamlet not far from Leyburn. The views are gorgeous all around. 
Your host Chris and Pete are so helpful friendly and down to earth , nothing is too much. When you arrive Tea and cakes await you, and in fact every day when you return from being out. 
The spread for breakfast is sumptuous and full English fills the gaps and sets you up for the day. 
It was great to have a sitting room which doubles as breakfast room especially when staying with friends. 
We had a couple of minor issues but not worth worrying as everything else made up for it.
