A really relaxed friendly homely stay We had fun riding with Carolyn and enjoyed fabulous countryside with our horses Delicious evening meal and breakfasts with local produce Thank you Henry and Carolyn

My wife and 4 friends spent 3 nights , we brought are horses for the ride on the Sunday , Corolyn took us for a long hack (4 hrs ) on the Saturday which was fantastic, Henry and Corolyn are loverly host, (and Boris the dog, )
It felt we were staying with friends, very warm , home from home and  relaxing.
After a long hack in the loverly countryside, it was great to relax in the hot tub with a beer,  we have book again for next year,

We recently spent three nights at Lower Buckton. What a wonderful find! It had everything, old world charm, a beautiful garden with mill stream at the bottom,  very comfortable bed and linens, and great hosts, Carolyn and Henry who were charming. Breakfast was wonderful with most of the produce coming from their own land, jams,mushrooms, Henry's tomatoes, delicious scrambled eggs, sausages, apple juice, plums. a wonderful selection of cereals including Carolyn's summer porridge with fresh raspberries. When next in the area we would definitely stay again

We rented Lower Buckton for 3 nights for  my parents Golden Wedding anniversary.  We had a wonderful few days, Carolyn was really helpful and easy to deal with.  We had lovely sunny weather and Henry kindly flooded the bottom of the garden so our boys could go swimming.  We played croquet on the lawn and enjoyed the trampoline.  The house is comfortable and quirky, and the kitchen equipped with all the equipment you might ever need.  Highly recommend.

We (4 couples) booked the whole house self-catering and found it to be the perfect retreat in a quiet, beautiful location. The kitchen is very large with two Agas, and cooking in it was made all the more pleasant by the view of the countryside beyond the stream that runs across the foot of the garden. Very clean, characterful house, extremely comfortable beds, a charming dining room with a table large enough to sit 20, warmed by the open fireplace, and a cosy sitting room with a well-stocked bookshelf and woodburning stove. This was a memorable three days away from the children and we'll definitely be booking again.

Stayed here for 3 nights Nov 2017. 4 couples. Great location, some stunning scenery immediately outside & this area ibs lovely.

Log fires in both the lounge & dining room made the chilly evenings cosy

Great weekend away for birthdays or similar

Carolyn even offered to make the fires, but pride myself on that job. Offered advice on walks a local pubs etc etc

We have just returned from a 3 day stay with Carolyn and Henry who are the perfect hosts. We were made to feel at home on arrival, with tea and excellent cake in the sitting room which is full of interesting family portraits and lovely furniture. The rest of the house continued the theme of being full of interest.
Carolyn's breakfast was first class, everything produced to order and beautifully cooked.

A great 4 days with our horses!

One of the worst if not the worst place I have ever stayed, filthy bedrooms and the lady who runs it talks to people absolutely disgustingly. I could excuse the dirt if the people who ran it had some respect for the people who pay for their rooms, unfortunately they dont. Please do not visit, it is a waste of time and money and you dont wat to sleep in filth. Dont even wanna give it a one star!
