The Mountsorrel

have stayed on a number of occasions , place is nipping clean even though the decor could do with an update.  The owners are lovely and the place is comfortable .  Personally I was disappointed that their evening meals were gone as they were very good .  Would recommend every time .

Lovely

On a recent visit we were very disappointed with the standards of our room, that was looking tired especially the bathroom and the decor.We found that the glass in the picture was broken as has been the glass in the front door on other visits.There was also damp patches around the front door of our room as was mould on the tiles in the bathroom and a broken soap dish in the shower.The welcome was unfriendly on arrival.We were also told that the card machine was broken and we had to pay cash but were not told were to get the cash from.Finally we could not understand why the price of the room had gone up 25% since our last visit in july 2016, but no improvement in the standard.

disappointing visit.

I have to say that lots of the comments made by previous contributors are absolutely correct.  It is clean, but dated and the furnishings are faded in places.  Having stayed in various rooms, some of them have very compact bathrooms and there always seems to be a shortage of towels, teabags, milk and mugs, we have had to share towels and mugs before now, because no one was about when we arrived to ask for enough of these for 2 people. The gentleman owner is very friendly, however, the lady is not.  Her  attitude to the guests on the telephone and in person leaves a lot to be desired, and one is left with the the overiding  impression  that guests are quite frankly an inconvenience, and to quote another reviewer "the abrasiveness of the the lady is enough to make me want to stay somewhere else".
