Excellent stay and attention to detail first class and very friendly

Lovely find in beautiful surroundings. The service was top class - everything was provided in the room to make your stay comfortable and relaxing and the peaceful surroundings ensured a great nights sleep. Breakfast was spot on - will definitely come again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Poole Farm and wished we had stayed longer.  The lovely rooms, comfy beds, fab breakfast and friendly welcome made an excellent experience.  We highly recommend Poole Farm and we very much hope to return sometime soon.

This is an outstanding rural bed and breakfast. We stayed for one night whilst walking the Tamara Way. Louise cooked a restaurant quality evening meal followed by a superb breakfast. The attention to detail is exceptional as is the warmth of welcome.

On arriving Lou and Rufus (Springer Spaniel) gave my husband and I a very warm greeting. Lou took us to our room and what a room. Luxurious indeed, with great views. Neals Yard toiletries, Border biscuits, fresh milk, water in a very silent fridge. Kettle and Tassimo coffee machine. Fluffy towels, robes, slippers and the most comfortable bed ever. It was my birthday and lovely Lou left a birthday card for me. Lou is just one amazing cook and our evening meal was just the best, in the very lovely dining room. Both breakfast menu and if you desire an evening meal are delicious with a variety of dishes to choose from. Fresh produce from their garden was a delight. We did meet Greg (Lous' husband) and he like Lou was so very lovely. The house is so clean and welcoming and the gardens are so very well kept. Both Lou and Greg was a mindful of information of places to visit.
We have booked the annexe for May 2024 and honestly cannot wait to get back. Can honestly say, Poole Farm is just the place we have stayed in.

Very well maintained property with lovely hosts.

We had a very comfortable stay in the self-catering cottage attached to the house. Lou and Greg were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay go well. The cottage is attractive, well-equipped and well-furnished, and the beds and sitting room especially comfortable. The location is very quiet and surrounded by very pretty countryside and masses of birdsong which gladdened our hearts. For us the great plus was that Lou cooked us a very ample dinner every evening from a quite impressive menu. So we felt well looked after. We'd come again.

I just had four nights staying in the most relaxing and calm country farmhouse!  Louise and Greg have really made every effort to create an elegant yet friendly and informal environment in their beautifully restored B&B.  The decoration, the furniture and even Rufus, the spaniel, contribute to the overall sense of welcoming comfort. 
The range of choice for breakfast was impressive with care and attention to detail.  Louise certainly cooks to a very high, professional standard.  My room was spotless and comfortable as was the modern well appointed bathroom.  10/10. 

My wife & I stayed recently for a week at Poole Farm CL in our caravan. We have been caravanning for 30+ years and never before have we stayed in a campsite as good as this! From the welcome, to the fabulous views, to the location, to the facilities, to the superb meals which were available throughout our stay, it’s impossible to find fault! We had a super week and will undoubtedly be back, again, and again, and…..!

What a GEM

First impressions when arriving were good. After a night of tourential rain we discovered a continuous  drip from the guttering which kept us awake all night.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was covered in dust which had clearly not been cleaned for a considerable  amount of time.

We discovered the washing machine and tumble dryer were located in a shed a distance away from the cottage which we had to pay extra for! this is totaly unexceptable as these items should be included in the booking price and not classed as an extra if you are self catering.

On examination of some of the ovenware  cooking oil from the previous guests was still visable indicating that this had not been cleaned, surely house keeping should of checked all tableware and ovenware were clean before the next Guests arrived.

I would give this cottage a maximum of 4 which is quite generous considering the issues highlited.

The best Caravan Site we have ever stayed in!

This is probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in, we could not fault a thing! The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and immaculately clean. The breakfast is plentiful and cooked beautifully. Also available was extras such as evening meals if you wanted it for a very reasonable price.  We will definitely be booking again.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean and plentiful

We stayed here when attending a family wedding. We had a warm welcome from Louise and Greg.  Our room was lovely, with a comfy bed, tv, tea and coffee, a fridge so fresh milk for tea! Spacious en suite with nice toiletries and wonderfully soft towels. There is lots of choice for breakfast and a couple of specials too. You can pre order an evening meal. We could not fault the food it was delicious. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer, hopefully we will return before too long.

A real gem

We stayed in the self-catering cottage for a week at the end of July, while my parents stayed in the B&B. On arrival, we were met by Greg who walked us around the property and explained all the facilities to us. The cottage itself was superb – clean and modern and wonderfully stocked (kitchen equipment, shower gels/shampoos, towels) with everything you would need for your week. The property is all on one open-plan level, with two good sized bedrooms (one double, the other a twin) and a lovely bathroom. The cottage also had a lovely hot-tub situated in the enclosed garden which our two girls enjoyed of an evening – again this was spotlessly clean and well maintained. 

What really separates this property from other similar properties however are the owners Louise and Greg and the care they put into both the property and ensuring guests have a wonderful stay. For example, we were greeted by a lovely welcome basket that contained cake, biscuits, fresh coffee and a bottle of wine, there were fresh flowers in the property and even a card for my birthday. In addition to this, Louise offers a range of home-cooked meals – these are both reasonably priced and delicious. Both ourselves and my parents enjoyed a number of lovely meals during our stay and I would highly recommend. My parents, who stayed in the B&B also commented on how good the breakfast was each morning. Greg and Louise also had time to recommend a number of local attractions and places to eat out if we wished.

The location is in a beautiful rural spot, 10 mins from Launceston. The location provided us the base to visit a number of towns/beaches in both Devon and Cornwall.

Would highly recommend – the whole property (cottage, B&B and the caravan pitches) are terrific and both Louise & Greg are focused on making their guests feel extremely welcome. Simon, Rowena & Family.

Terrific Cottage

Well what can I say about this site :

1: Wonderful welcome with tea or coffee on arrival .
2: A complimentary homemade cream tea with proper Cornish cream !
3: Outstanding service by Lou, Greg and Harvey .
4: Clean , tidy and well kept site and due to position of site can hop between the two beautiful counties to visit.
5: Gravel hard standing ,fully service pitches .
6: Outstanding facilities with private shower room , dog shower area and the lovely ‘hut’ which is great for washing up , having local maps , information about local places to visit , walks , tumble dryer , washer with a small shop and homemade jams .
7: Last but definitely not least the FOOD . Wow and double wow ! Home cooked meals and dessert for great value ,delivered to your caravan for breakfast , Sunday roast ( a must) and evening meals . This is a truly fantastic addition to have for your stay .
Poole Farm truly deserve the awards they have been given and hopefully get the CL of the year for this year too.

What a little gem

Only stayed overnight but found a lovely welcome, nothing was too much trouble.
Our room had a dual aspect with beautiful rural views. A large comfy bed with luxurious furnishings. Very well appointed en-suite with toiletries. Breakfast was pre ordered with excellent choice and lovely fresh ingredients.
