A warm welcome and clear communication. Very helpful friendly family run hotel. The hotel looks like it is slowly beind developed, so a bit dated in areas but clean, comfortable with easy parking. I had their chicken curry for dinner, really tasty. A great stay, I will definitely use again and llok forward to watch the transformation.

This proprty does feel a bit tired and dated. We stayed whilst visiting santa pod raceway. 15 minuets from the track. The hosts were so friendly and accomodating. We had a family room which was perfect. Spotlessly clean including the bathroom and beds comfy. Tea coffee and toiletries in the room. Breakfast was extra but wow! What a great breakfast and im picky for quality 10/10. Overall good value and just what we needed. Should we ever use a hotel again whilst visiting santa pod we would definitely stay again.

Second visit - friendly, clean & welcoming with a carpark for a big van. Bar was open for a beer after a long day. It's all a weary traveller needs. Nice family run operation.

Good cheap hotel. A bit tired looking in places but clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking, good WiFi, usual tea/coffee/ biscuits which were topped up every day, friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom with a walk in shower which I much prefer to a bath. The only issue for me was there was no desk/table to work at but laptops are called laptops for a reason!Room was cleaned and bed made up for me every day which a lot of hotels don’t do these days.

Good cheap hotel

This large hotel was SO friendly and accommodating.  Superb freshly cooked breakfasts and extremely comfortable and quiet room.  Had the feel of a very personal B&B rather than a large hotel.Great value for money - definitely would stay again if we're in the area.Thank you for your welcome and your hospitality.

Great value for money - and very quiet!

From the outside this hotel isn't paticularly pleasing on the eye, and  inside the hotel is a little dated. However, see past that and yiu will have a very enjoyable stay.This is perhaps the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in and everything in the room yet, which I find often isn't the case, even with 5 star hotels. The breakfast was perhaps one of the best, if not the best I've ever had in a hotel. And when I thanked the owner she confirmed that all the food is cooked fresh fro scratch.The husband and wife owners were vert helpful and even opened the bar 2 hours early just to me.Yes the decor is a little dated and the outside could do with sprucing up, but the service, cleanlinesd and breakfast were 5 star

Ignore first impressions

Check in was speedy the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful .plenty parking  spaces short walk to reception. Rooms are basic but for the price there adequate if ypu want 5 star pay for 5 star .Food was ok cooked fresh by the owners same with breakfast. Would stay again very friendly people

Value for money

As a group of 9 cyclists all with bikes, it wasn't an easy job to find a hotel in Wellingborough but the Columbia did the job well. The rooms were clean and shower was good. The owner was friendly and helpful with our bikes, plus the breakfast was delicious and of good quality. Give this place a try and you won't regret it.

Helpful and friendly staff makes the difference

We were keeping an appointment and visiting friends and family. The Columbia was in a good position for this. It was exceptionally clean. The bathroom seemed to have been recently updated. The towels and bedlinen were really good. There was one chair at the desk/dressing table which was worn but adequate. The people running it were very helpful, providing extra milk when requested. We went out for long lunches but spent a lot of time in the room and had a pleasant stay.

A satisfactory visit

The best part of this hotel is the family menaging it. Nothing is problematic to them - earlier breakfast, checking in or out at uncommon time. I had unusual request to see Eurovision Song Contest together with my friends (pubs around shows only fotball). I got permision to rearange tv room in the lobby area, so we could watch the concert together. Thank you.

Friendly place

We stayed on Sunday 6th April .we arrived late in the day so missed getting anything to eat .The owner told us where the restaurants were or if we wanted we could get a takeaway and eat it in our room which we thought was nice of him .our room was clean and basic but being honest it was all we needed . Yes its a bit dated but remember that her has lost his income for 6 months and is only 20% at capacity so living really to pay the bills . We came down in the morning for breakfast and received a full cooked breakfast which was really tasty. We was going to book a taxi but the owner did it for us . If your looking for  a plush hotel look else where . If you want to have a basic clean  hotel  with a lovely breakfast book here  and help a local business.
