Sandon Guest House

Sandon Guest House was perfect for our stay in Keswick exploring the Northern Lake District.  The location is ideal, on a lovely residential side street right off the main access to the town center.  Steve and Margaret are very welcoming and their home is lovely, small rooms but very comfortable.  The breakfast included was delicious, varied and substantial so a great way to start an active day.  We hope to visit again and will definitely stay at Sandon!

Can't rate this guest House highly enough. From the warm welcome to the clean spotless rooms and hearty breakfast.
The hosts are very accommodating so if you have any needs ring ahead to agree your dietary preference.
Will definitely return for another walking holiday. 

I enjoyed three delightful days at this lovely Guest House over a long weekend. It is extremely comfortable, my room had absolutely everything you could desire, the breakfasts were superb and value for money it was outstanding. In fact I couldn't fault it in any way. I was made to feel very welcome. I particularly loved all the framed pictures by local artists and the photographs that were displayed on the stairs, landings, dining room and entrance hall. They made a real impact and helped to show off the accommodation at its best. There were also many useful leaflets, maps and guides for guests to use. As far as I could see the only drawback (and it certainly didn't affect me) is that the street parking could be a problem at the height of the holiday season. For a very comfortable, relaxing and pleasurable stay I would highly recommend Sandon Guest House and wouldn't hesitate to return.

We visited Sandon Guest House for a short break over New Year and would highly recommend to all other travellers looking for a good spot in Keswick. Steve was very welcoming and helped take our many bags up to our room. A small bottle of prosecco was a lovely additional touch for New Year's Eve! There is a wide choice for breakfast - I doubt the full English can be beaten for quality anywhere else. Ideally situated for being able to walk the whole way around stunning Derwent Water (19.5km from door to door, approx 5 hour amble with one coffee stop). Steve and Margaret were so welcoming, accommodating, and easy to get along with - they really made our stay enjoyable. Hope to visit again soon! 

A fabulous place to stay for a few days, so clean and comfortable, hosts very accommodating and helpful, and the breakfast certainly deserves its award, even my husband struggled to eat it. I haven't tasted bacon like it for years. It's all locally sourced which makes the difference. Fresh fruit and yoghurt also on the menu which I love to have when I'm not at work and can relax over my breakfast. The bathroom was adequate with lovely fluffy Egyptian cotton towels and bathrobes in the wardrobe and toiletries provided if you needed them. I would most certainly recommend this place and hope to visit again.
