The Modbury Inn

Nice historic inn. There isn't much parking in Modbury so best to drop your bags outside and drive down the hill to the large car park at the bottom of town (free in the evenings)
We had arrived after 8pm and the kitchen was just about to close but the kitchen staff stayed open for us and we had a lovely dinner. The owners are lovely and all the staff were friendly. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very good value.

I was recommended The Modbury Inn by the daughter of a very old friend whose funeral I had to attend. Craig & Leah the owners made me feel immediately at home on such a sad occasion. Room was good & the bed was extremely comfortable. Craig made space for me with parking right in front of the Inn & the "Spread" of food laid on after the funeral was Superb as were the meals I ordered during  the all too short visit to Devon.   

Excellent quaint hotel in the centre of Modbury. We were welcomed warmly & shown to a comfortable double room with a shower en suite. Adequate for our needs. 
The bar & restaurant were charming for a delicious dinner & breakfast with a good wine list Ti select from & cocktail’s available as well as a good selection of beers & ciders. 
A very pleasant Inn for an overnight stay before exploring South Devon

Lovely family meal with great service and great food. Sat outside for a drink then came in for the mains, good Wagyu burger, scampi, pork belly. Good variety on the kids menu and good sized kids portions. Restaurant was full on the night we were there which is always a good sign.

My friends and I were stranded after storm Betty hit us while trying to put up our tent in the evening but left us with a broken tent and feeling very wind swept. After ringing around all the local places to stay, even though the rooms were all full, Craig kindly let us sleep on his restaurant floor. We ended up listening to some brilliant live music, trying the famous Aloha 😋 and having a delicious breakfast in the morning!! A really welcoming pub with friendly locals and a really kind hearted host !!! Went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable - Thanks Craig and the rest of the family for letting us stay with such short notice!!!! 🍻🍻

Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfasts and evening meals in this old inn in the lovely town of Modbury. The restaurant was full both (mid-week) nights with a good and lively atmosphere. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. We had booked one night but stayed for two.  Hats off to Craig, the owner and chef. Highly recommend.

The welcome was very warm and friendly and we were quickly taken to our room. We went for the superior room (Room number 1) which is also the family room.  It is very very comfortable, large airy room with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. 
The breakfast was excellent and the bar area was toasty warm with a wood burning stove.

We were made to feel welcome throughout our stay. Craig  and his staff went above and beyond making our stay as comfortable as possible. Great food, clean room, lovely quaint pub with a lovely beer garden.

Visited Modbury this weekend and decided to go to the pub for an evening meal. The meal was great, quick service and friendly staff. Dog friendly too!! Would highly recommend visiting this pub if you ever visit Modbury

We have stayed here several times and have eaten many times when visiting family locally. The Modbury serves good pub food and stocks  well kept ales.  The  Friday
 night curry meal deal is good value and the  Sunday night quiz which includes a meal and drink for under £10 is good humoured and fun. We have always found the staff, particularly the landlady friendly and helpful . The rooms are clean
and good value with breakfast optional ,which
 can suit those who need an early check out . Wish our 
local pub was as good as this !!
