This was a  beautiful rural property with lots of character. the road in was a single lane road with lots of potholes, but once entering the property the driveway was great with easy parking.  rooms were large on a courtyard configuration.  On site restaurant served excellent food and staff was outstanding . The complimentary continental breakfast was awesome and a lot more then we have experienced in other establishments.  An outstanding stay and will highly recommend.

Beautiful location and friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed drinking wine at the sunroom with spectacular views.

Charming place right on the water.  Close to Dunvegan Castle and Portree but secluded.  Lovely stay.

The location is very beautiful and still. We love the place, people are very friendly. We had a Nice dinner and breakfast. The room was comfortabel and clean.

Very lovely house on the Isle of Skye, very charming country side spirit with sheep on the way. Super calm. Lovely room with a proper living area.

So happy we stayed at the Redwood House instead of Portree. We were not impressed with the crowds and tourists in Edinburgh. Here in Skye and the Redwood House, we found the hospitality and open country-side we imagined of Scotland.  The rooms were wonderfully comfortable. I would definitely recommend upgrading to a room with a view of the loch. The bar and dining option was very good. On our last morning, a storm cut electricity to the area and amazingly the staff still had  breakfast ready including hot water for coffee. I loved the remoteness of the hotel.  Even was lucky enough to see the Milky Way on 2 clear, dark nights. Our 3 night stay at the Redwood House was the highlight of our 2 week vacation in Scotland.

We had a great overnight stay. Lovely dinner & excellent choice at breakfast. Breakfast is a cold buffet but has lots n lots of choice. 
The road leading to the hotel is a single track road but an easy drive.We had room 2 and it was a spacious room with beautiful views over the bay.Sizeable ensuite shower room, The hotel was spotless clean & had such very very friendly staff.It even has a relaxation room to have your coffee & again lovely views over the bay.
When up in Skye we have now found our go to hotel.

Comfy, cosy & warm rooms with delicious food . We stayed here for 2 nights , as it was late in the season we decided to have dinner here both nights . Food was high quality and delicious, would highly recommend eating here. Breakfast was described as “continental only” . It was so good ! Huge buffet style with lots of choices of cold cuts , pastries, fruit , cereals, boiled eggs, cheeses, breads and lots more . The hotel looks over Loch Greshornish , simply stunning . Loved that the last few miles to the hotel was a single track country road , the sheep made us laugh every time . It’s about half an hour from Portree one way and half an hour from Dunvegan the other way , perfect for what we needed . A huge thanks to Annette and John for looking after us so well . We will be back .

Peter and Annette were so warm and welcoming and so personable. This is a gorgeous location!  I actually got up early to watch the sunrise over the water-- so beautiful and peaceful.  Rooms are large and the bed was comfortable.  The breakfast in the morning may have been cold but what a spread! Great place to stay on Skye.

Superb experience

Fabulous

We booked a four night stay at Redwood House Hotel as it was our first stop on our holiday in the Outer Hebrides.  We were a little surprised to find it so isolated, but once we arrived and were settled in we got used to the driving to and from the property.

The room was comfortable with enough space for two of us plugs luggage.  The bathroom very spacious and great shower.  However I think there needs to be a table or  some shelving added to the bathroom so guests can put their toiletries and toilet bags etc. on them, instead of on the floor.

The area where the dining room is located could do with a bit of a tidy up.  It caters for all the guests, but it would be nice to see the plastic table clothes changed out for an evening meal, with a cloth table cloth, or an individual placemat .  For the evening meals, it just seemed too much like dining in someone's kitchen or a cafe.

We also noticed that the staff took a long time to clear the used breakfast crockery from a table once guests had left.  We saw one couple move used dishes to another table, then shake the plastic cloth outside then turn it over and place upside down on a table, in order that they could sit and eat their breakfast.  On that day, the man and woman hanging the area didn't seem to be aware of what they were doing, or of the fact that 4-6 tables were waiting to be cleared.

For the money one pays to stay at a hotel like this, we felt a little more professionalism and friendliness from reception, waiting staff would work wonders on guests.

Nice but disappointed

My Daughter and I stayed at Redwood house for 2 nights. we were in suite C4 with I believe is due to be renovated. It was clean and cozy. The staff/owner were very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant was fine, however, it did not in any way fit the description as advertised on the web sight. It might be beneficial to update the web sight.

The room felt more like a townhouse, it was roomy and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful with a lake and land with sheep. It was a wonderful getaway from the city!There is also a restaurant that had really good food for dinner! The breakfast was great as well! We really enjoyed our stay and will come back if we visit the area again!

Great stay at the Redwood House!

Such an adorable little hotel on the lake. I stayed a short time and wish I had longer. I got in very late but had called and John was super helpful and friendly and made sure I had what I needed when I got in and reminded me to get food first bc nothing around there after their restaurant closes. Very helpful and kind of him bc I forget things close early and I forget to eat. Breakfast was good. John was super nice and gave me ideas where to go and even shared a picture he took of the sunset with me bc I missed it. And I loved the drive in with all the sheep neighbors to the hotel. I'm an animal but and that made me happy just driving in and being able to count my sheep before I got there and went to bed! 😜

Redwood House and their staff are amazing! John goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. The accommodations are incredible and the views are spectacular on the loch. I promise that you will love this place as much as we did! And make sure to ask for Kara’s big a** salad! You won’t regret it!
