On our trip to the highlands, we had planned to stay here for one night before travelling back to Wolverhampton.

The hospitality from John and the comfort of the place convinced us to stay an extra night.

If you are in Inverness, I would not look anywhere else beyond Druid House.

At the end of our 12th day of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats on a tandem, my son and I arrived here soaked and freezing.  It was not winter but early June 2019.  We had just cycled from Blair Atholl; over Drumochter Pass, through Aviemore  and over Slochd Summit.  It had rained persistently and the temperature had dropped as low as 3C. 

Step forward Deirdre, our host, who ushered us into the private area of the magnificent house where a massive wood burning stove was blasting out heat.  We literally steamed.

Once the worst of the chill was banished the tandem was locked away in an outbuilding and we were shown to our lovely room. It was an ensuite double, which was nicely decorated and very warm and welcoming (and by now on our trip we had become used to sharing a double).   

There was a lot of room to spread out our kit and the added bonus of heaters being on enabling us to easily dry kit washed in the shower (lots of hot water) ready to wear the next day.

The property was very quiet and we slept extremely well.  Breakfast was a delight with fine view over the garden and out towards Inverness, which I am sure would have been lovely if the rain soaked clouds hadn't been down to the ground.  All in all, splendid.

We booked our entire ten day stay in Scotland here and we are so glad we did!  From the time we arrived at least two hours later than we had planned on, John was there waiting for us with a welcoming smile and the key to our room.  Our room was spotless and had everything we needed.  Ample, easy parking was an added bonus as so many of the B&B's in this area lacked convenient parking.

Breakfast each morning had a decent selection of choices whether you wanted a light breakfast or something more filling.  The lady who takes care of the breakfast (and the rooms) was extremely efficient!

John is of course a wealth of information being from the area and had several  excellent choices when we asked him what we shouldn't miss while in Inverness including where we should eat.

The location of Druid House worked well for us as a base for our stay as the places we visited were within a short driving distance.

There is a lovely stream behind the main house that is delightful as well!  Highly recommend this property whether for a night or multiple days.

John the owner is a 'biker' so when 2 of us turned up during some of the wettest weather on the NC500 this year, with most of our waterproof gear having failed over the last few days, we could not believe our luck. He allowed us to garage the bikes. He took the worst of our gear and put it in a boiler room over night to dry out. He also suggested that if we didn't want to go out for dinner in the continuing monsoon, we were welcome to order a takeaway to be delivered; even providing a little sitting room area with 'eating irons'. But it was obvious all his guests get the same level of hospitality, be they foreigners, bikers, tourists, businessmen - whatever. Room was clean, tidy and reasonable size. Breakfast area is refreshingly different, with hot & cold buffet. Nothing seemed too much trouble - what a change from the place we had the misfortune to choose the night before!  Thanks John, you were a star.

John, the owner is really friendly, and will give you good guidance on the best local attractions.
The property is clean, the breakfasts are good - what more do you need in a B&B.

Amazing place! Staff are friendly and you feel like you are at home. Im a bit late with the review as i stayed there in 2016 but better late than never! Beautiful home and food was stunning. Room was amazing.

Stayed for a night on the way to visiting the north of Scotland. We had a very nice welcome and shown to the room and given details of what was in the local area. 

The room was comfortable with a nice view to the back of the hotel and from the balcony we could hear the gentle trickle of a stream in the gardens. 

Very nice breakfast with a wide choice of hot food, cereals etc

It is a short walk to a bar and bistro restaurant called Dows where we had a nice meal. There is a large supermarket nearby and of course Inverness.

Plenty of parking in the hotel grounds too.

Nice apartment, very friendly owner. I stayed in apartment 1, it had everything I needed. It’s a bit tired in places however I think it added to the character of the place. Very comfortable and homely. Would recommend staying here.

Wee things missing like somewhere to hang clothes up in bathroom, a dressing table and a bin but nothing that affected our stay. 
Owner was friendly and welcoming.

Best BnB ever!

Just stayed for one night in the self catering accommodation, which seemed fairly new and had everything you needed. Bed was comfy and it was a good shower. There is also a large garden for the dogs to play in. 

That was the positives but now the downside. Regrettably there  was a considerable accumulation of many days of dust under the bed, which is worrying at any time but during Covid times when extra cleaning is supposed to be done is totally unacceptable. 

The surprise was the packet of condoms, thankfully not used, that were down the back of the settee when we plumped up the cushions. I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the owners response when the dust and the condoms were reported to her on leaving. Basically she tried to blame others for not cleaning properly but I’m sorry as the owner she should be checking and double checking that everything is done correctly. 

Probably won’t stay again which is a shame as the location is good and so could the accommodation be with more attention to detail.
