Destiny Student - Cowgate (Campus Accommodation)

I had booked a studio room at this place as I was to spend a week at Edinburgh and wanted a room with basic cooking facilities and close to the centre of the city. This property appeared to be suitable. I had been somewhat apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on Tripadvisor that mentioned about the noise from the street, especially a night club across the road, and the somewhat unhelpful attitude of the staff members. However, my experience was completely different. Right from check-in, I found the staff at the reception very helpful and friendly. I was given a room towards the end of a corridor, which was quiet, both from any noise from the street and from other guests. The room was clean when I checked in with all facilities as promised on the website. Yes, the room was rather small, and two persons would just about fit in (I was alone and didn't have any problems). There was only one chair, for example. But it is manageable considering the location. Coming to the location, it couldn't have been any better. Exactly two minutes walk to the royal mile, another few minutes to Waverly station, and one couldn't ask for more. There are Tesco and Stainbury stores within a few minutes walk for those who might want to cook. Complementary tea, coffee, sugar, cream, soap and shampoo sachets are provided. About the only issue I had was noise of toilets being flushed in other rooms!! But I guess this has to do with the building design and not with the staff and amenities. So I would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again if I visit the city again.
