Fantastic
2615 reviewsWe recently stayed at this lovely hotel for four nights when we visited Edinburgh to see the Military Tattoo. We’d booked to stay in a suite and the room allocated was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was literally the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in over decades of travelling. A knocking noise started in the evening which transpired to be coming from the boiler room. The staff were amazing and arranged for us to move from suite 3 to suite 14 the following day. The new room was equally spacious and comfortable and it was lovely to be able to have the windows open to let in the evening air. In both rooms we slept so well. We ate breakfast in the hotel two mornings and the food was hot and delicious; a great way to start the day. We also had a couple of drinks one evening, and again the service was attentive and drinks lovely. We didn’t have an evening meal at the hotel sadly. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the McDonald Road tram stop which made life so easy travelling from and to the airport. We used the trams to travel throughout the city but it is worth noting that if you’re visiting the Tattoo, it finishes after the last tram back which we didn’t realise. It took us about 20 mins to wander back to the hotel and thankfully it was downhill all the way! It was lovely to return to the hotel after each busy day knowing we had a clean and comfortable room to return to. The staff are a real credit to this hotel. Everyone we spoke with couldn’t have been more helpful and really added to our stay. Thank you very much for making our stay so wonderful. My top tips for Edinburgh - wear very comfortable shoes as the city is very hilly and any shortcuts are steep flights of steps. If visiting in August, the city is bonkers busy with The Fringe, The Tattoo, Book Festival, etc and a number of concerts but the atmosphere is amazing. Book ahead any places you want to eat at. If visiting the Tattoo (which was amazing) it gets cold as the night goes on so warm clothing and even a hat is needed. We wrapped up but still bought a blanket on the night lol Honestly, don’t hesitate staying at this lovely boutique hotel. You won’t regret it. Hopefully one day we will be back as there’s still so much to see in Edinburgh! Thank you!!
