I used to stay here at least a couple of times a month and it was always a bit hit and miss. Returned last night for the first time since the pandemic and was throughly impressed. Check in was fast and the receptionist, Colby, was very friendly. I was given an executive room on the 4th floor which had a great view out over the hills. The bed was large and comfortable, there were plenty of charging ports, a large desk and comfortable lounge chair. Lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided along with some biscuits, bottled water and kit kats. The ensuite was a little dated but everything worked fine and the shower pressure was good. The bar is an excellent space. Staff were friendly and the service was quick even if drinks were somewhat overpriced. The food was excellent- I had the beef & mushroom wellington pie which was very rich and flavoursome. A cut above the usual HI standards. All in all, a very impressive stay and I'd certainly return.
