Booked Rainbow Ridge for a long weekend in July for a party of friends.  It was perfect.  The photos don’t really do it justice, the bedrooms were excellent (all but one is en suite), the living/TV room big and comfortable and the dining room and kitchen just right for a party who want to cook and eat together.  Add the bar, the pirates den (which we enjoyed even though we had no children with us!) and the outside seating areas and we found we had booked the best house we had ever booked for one of these breaks.  Fran and Chris are lovely and met us to welcome us and show us around.  Car parking is right outside and the house is a comfortable walk to the sea front/town centre.  What a great house, highly recommended.

My Husband took me here for my birthday in May as a suprise. Ilfracombe itself is a beautiful place and the Rainbow Ridge was perfect for our stay. The owners are very friendly and attentive and nothing waa too much trouble... there was sparkling wine and cakes laid out for our arrival (my husband had arranged this with the owners for my birthday) along with fresh flower in our room. We stayed in a lovely double room with an suite bathroom. The room had lots of character and the bed was very comfortable. We had our dog with us so the garden to the rear was very useful as well as a lovely place to sit outside. The use of fully functional kitchen, dining room, lounge and even towels if our dog had been for a swim (no chance though-our 40kg st Bernard cross is scared of water). 10 minute walk down to the front where there is plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay here again.

We hired Rainbow Ridge for a family celebration and it was perfect! Fran, the owner, was so accommodating, friendly and helpful from the outset. Knowing that we were having a birthday celebration Fran had even set up a cake stand for us and had no problem with us putting up decorations.
 On our arrival we were greeted by Fran who had kindly supplied us with a cream tea and a bottle of "bubbles", totally unexpected and very much appreciated, a great start to our long weekend break.
The house is amazing, big but warm and enveloping, a real home from home. The children we had with us loved the Pirate Den and enjoyed many games of hide and seek in the house,  plenty of places to secrete themselves!  The whole house was exceptionally clean and welcoming and the kitchen had an abundance of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans.
Unfortunately the weather let us down and although we did venture out for a couple of short trips it was lovely to have Rainbow Ridge to return to!

We only stayed for one night, in early January so out of season as down for a funeral. We arrived late and tired, the owners were lovely in letting us settle and giving us directions to where we could get a meal in the main town as with it being January most places were closed. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Excellent Wifi provided and breakfast was wonderful. Could not praise them more. Thank you for making a Sad trip a welcoming experience.

I actually really enjoyed staying in the room! The decor was original and quirky and felt very cosy. Very clean although the bathroom wasn't great and it was very small. 

Super friendly staff - I left my jacket there and they made the effort to post it to me and didn't ask for any money for postage. Little things like that make the difference.
