We only stayed for one night but would definitely stay here again.Room and bathroom were clean.Fresh towels, tea, coffee supplied in the room.Breakfast included in the morning was beautiful and had plenty to choose from.All staff were very welcoming and helpful. Wasn't too noisy as situated just off the main square so got a good nights sleep.Close to all the shops, pubs and restaurants.

My son and I had a lovely overnight stay here, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff could not do enough to help. It is in an excellent location for exploring the town and we will definitely be returning

First short stay and have to say very impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone was. Hoping to make this stay more regular so encouraged so far.

All life's essentials and a nice comfy bed. Staff helpful and welcoming. Parking potentially tricky and not quite adjacent to the hotel. Rooms need a little love perhaps, (it’s not a new building after all!) but I’d be happy to stay again. Really handy for town centre, castle etc. Bargain price, so no complaints!

We were kindly booked in here by the owner (who also owns The Buck Inn). I had made a mistake with my booking for The Buck and by the time I realised the The Buck was fully booked. We were so grateful for our stay to be rearranged!!
The pub was busy with music in the bar but our room was so quiet we didnt hear a thing! Very comfortable bed, great shower and delicious vegetarian breakfast!!

So kind and helpful

I enjoyed everything about Turf! The people were wonderful and made on the spot corrections as requested, there were only three. Food was delicious and fresh every morning. Always quiet and restful. Rooms were cozy. More people should know about this hotel and utilize it because they would truly enjoy it!!

Omg amazing place a footstep away from everything the staff were amazing go out there way to make you feel welcome Brilliant to take kids dogs room bed lovely and cosy ideal to watch the footy ( liverpool match)Alchol reasonable price breakfast lush good qaulity meat we loved our short stay will definitely be back we were lucky with parking there is 3 spaces on property we got there early parked up and looked around richmond lots to see locals in pub are lovely people i cant say enough how nice the staff are especally you lad at breakfast from darlington and young barmaid with red her who asked if i wanted plates and cutlery for my chinese takeaway ( there werent nice to make money from you just genuine nice people see yous soon and be defintely telling friends and family about this place

Excellent location, staff were very nice, pub food and breakfast were excellent, room was very basic but clean. perfect for the price paid for 2 adult, 1 child and a dog for a short notice stay.Would certainly stay again. Parking available nearby at low cost or Monday to Friday between 6pm- 8am or Sunday is free parking in the market square which is less than a minute walk away. Saturday afternoon/evening got a bit busy in the bar and pretty loud but its a pub and its a Saturday before Christmas so cant complain.Overall a perfect stay

Short notice family stay at a great price

Great place to stay, the manager Craig had not long taken over the pub and is a lovely man. When first booked through booking.com it was advertised as B+B but there was no breakfast available at that time which we were immediately informed of on arrival with apologies and the price for the room adjusted accordingly so it was very reasonably priced and would highly recommend to friends and family.

The Turf Hotel

Read a few negative reviews but wasn’t put off by them and so glad I didn’t. This place is great. Bed was really comfy, nice crisp linen and a lovely clean en suite.  Evening meal was delicious and the entertainment was awesome. Checked the Facebook page and noticed they have an act on every Friday and Saturday. Definitely booking to stay here again. Staff are very friendly too. 10/10.

Central location and great pub

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome by Craig, who led us to a very clean, well presented and warm bedroom. After check in, we went down into the bar, which was warm, inviting and again very clean. David served us drinks, discussed the house ale and told us of some great walks in the area to take our dogs. We then sampled the sharing platter, which is not for those watching their figure! It was massive. The food tasted delicious and everything was cooked to perfection and well presented. That night as we climbed into heaven, sorry the bed, we were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the mattress was and had a fantastic nights sleep. The bed linen is crisp and white, with plump pillows and an amazing quilt. The room was en suite, spotless and coffee and tea facilities were provided too. In the mornings, for breakfast, we were greeted by Charlotte one day and Laura the next, they make a fabulous full English and couldn’t do more for us. The whole stay surpassed our expectations and we left wanting to stay and relive the experience again. The location, staff, food and drink are outstanding. The team should be proud of the experiences and memories they create here. We will definitely return.

What an amazing experience

My sister am I were on a day out to Richmond and came across the Turf Hotel as we were looking for somewhere to eat.  
There were people sitting at the tables outside as it was a glorious day.
 I went to to ask for a couple of menus and the lady who was the owner I guessed said that they didn't serve food until 12, which is fair enough. She could see the disappointment in my face and said "it's okay, I'll give you a couple on menus" This was very good of her indeed.
 My sister and I had fish and chips and a glass of milk each, again, this was not something she was normally asked for but she still said we could have it.
  So we were very pleased with the service we got as they went out of their way to keep us happy. All the staff were friendly and the place was nice and clean so we will happily go there again if we are in Richmond again.
