The Olive Branch Inn

had a wonderful stay here last night . used at we were attending a birthday in the village however we will return again and sample the food it looked amazing

Really nice rooms, clean and recently painted.

A one night stay with friends for a wedding. Great, friendly service, great room with a comfy bed. Staff very friendly and breakfast went down a treat

The location was excellent for a nights stay with comfortable rooms, countryside walks and dining for every meal type throughout the day at the pub downstairs. Nice view from the Serengeti room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a brewery less than a five minute walk away, nearest town is Marsden and the canal side walk to it was lovely. Would recommend and stay again.

Very friendly staff. Large quirky room. Very clean. The food we had was excellent. A very varied choice, very well cooked and larger portions than many restaurants of this calibre. I would certainly stay here again. Loved it.

This is a lovely Inn. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The area is absolutely stunning. The front of the building faces the street so, yes, there is some traffic noise, but you really should expect that when you check in.It did not deter from our experience. We had our evening meal there the first night and, because we were lucky enough to have sunny days, we dined outdoors. The food is very, very good. There is a walking trail behind the inn that leads to a very nice walk along the canal that leads to Marsden where there are coffee shops, a bakery and an ice cream cone shop - among other things. We would stay here again without hesitation.

I stayed one night as I was visiting relatives in the area.  The room was comfortable and the food was excellent.

Out of town, quiet. Beautiful room with great en suite facilities.

Nice place, easy to find and decent car park. Room was clean and well appointed. Comfortable bed and good size en-suite. Lovely coffee and honesty bar easily accessible from the room. Our room looked out over the busy road, but we still slept well. No veggie full English breakfast available. Very limited veggie options on the main menu for dinner/lunch which meant we went elsewhere for dinner.

A Pleasant Stay

Enjoyed our stay at the Olive Branch, lovely sized room. The shower was difficult to turn and water temperature was poor although to be fair it was so hot outside we only wanted cold showers. The pub/ restaurant attached was very good quality & this was also where breakfast was served. We filled in a form the night before for breakfast which we like as an idea as it avoids waste but personally I believe this was a missed opportunity & a more detailed form would have been impressive. EG list the items available for the full English & offer a choice of eggs. The staff were all lovely and very helpful with suggestions for walks & visits.

Staff were extremely nice and friendly.  room was very pleasantly furnished and was clean although the bath sink drained very slowly as was blocked with hair.  The room does not have double glazing overlooks a main road.  The road was however very quiet at night and on Sunday morning during our stay.  There is a very good menu choice for evening meal and food was very nice.

A very pleasant stay

A lovely Inn, with just 3 rooms. The room we had was nicely furnished and had a Kingsize bed. The Inn has a very good restaurant and is understandably busy as the food is excellent. Included in our room price was a choice of breakfast. Our full English was spot on, fresh and hot. Outside, the Inn has fantastic countryside views which can be enjoyed from the terrace and garden. A little gem.

A gem

Lovely little country pub with rooms. We stayed in Serengeti room which was beautifully decorated. Lovely fluffy bath towels. We had lunch and dinner here which were both excellent. The full English breakfast was very good with quality produce. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely out of the way place.

This is a lovely little pub with attached rooms, accessed through a side door. It looks like it was an old coaching inn and has easy access from the motorway. Lots of room for parking behind the building. The bar is warm and cozy. The food was excellent, both a Sunday roast dinner and the fresh cooked breakfast. The drive through West Yorkshire and the edges of the Peak District keeps you off the M62 and allows for a drive across the moors - stunning scenery, wild reservoirs and small villages tucked away in the valleys.

Great food and comfort

Very pleasantly surprised by The Olive Branch which looks very ordinary from the outside and is a roadside inn on a fairly main road.    The reception was very friendly and we were shown to our rooms in an adjacent building ~ what a pleasant surprise, good sized rooms, very comfortable and with large well equipped bathrooms.We had an excellent evening meal in warm friendly surroundings and charming service.The only downside was a certain amount of traffic noise but then I live in the depths of the country and it didn't worry my colleague from London at all !

A Night in the Colne Valley.

Lovely Inn within walking distance to Marsden. Room was a good size and nicely furnished with all the amenities we needed. Staff friendly and helpful. Make sure you have dinner as the food and service was top notch, we were told it was good but it surparsed our expectations. Very nice cooked breakfast both mornings too, would recommend to anyone.
