Happened upon this very quaint and welcoming inn whilst out on a random Sunday drive. We called in for lunch and I must say it was very pleasant. The food was homely and made such a nice change from the more mass produced nonsense we see at the chains. The Sunday roast was just like your nanna would do, no frills, plain old fashioned grub! Hostess was very nice and accommodating. It was a horrid cold wet day and despite knowing the regulars were due anytime soon, the hostess still sat us close to the open fire. The young lady serving the food was vey attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I do not usually do sweets but I spied treacle tart & custard so frankly it had to be sampled! Let’s hope lovely honest places like this reign for another 400 years!
