The School House

Nicky and Jim were great hosts, on call if required. Immaculate clean room with a great shower, had plenty of breakfast options. Quiet area with no disturbances in the night. Would highly recommended

The stay was stress free with the free parking. The Hosts made us feel very welcome and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Very good property, friendly couple, felt home from home

Stayed for the one night. Lovely place, excetionally clean and beautiful breakfast. It's a shame there's not a pub in the village in walking distance, but plenty to choose from not too far away 3-4 minutes in the car. Will certainly have no hesitation staying here again when in the area.

Nicky and Jim are top quality proprietor and consequently a stay here either for a night, in our case, breaking the journey from Cornwall to Chester or perhaps for longer if exploring the area, will be well worth while.
Peaceful, clean and a super breakfast. Why stay in a soulless branded hotel when you can stay at the Old School house??

We enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Nikki and Jim. They live on property and are accessible to assist with anything we needed. The bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a wonderful shower with soft towels. The surrounding area to The School House is picturesque and calming. We would definitely return to Woolavington.

Choose soul, not soulless

My son & i recieved the warmest welcome from nicky the proprietor of this beautiful home. Our room was lovely fresh clean, beautifully laundered bedding. Shower was fabulous, we had a wonderful peaceful sleep & in the morning we met the other proprietor Jim at breakfast who was very warm & friendly & breakfast was tasty.
Our family have recently moved to a locality close by so we need a regular safe & homely place to stay during our visits. we did have our previous stay at the pig & whistle  b&b not far away which was a grave mistake. Thankfully we have now found a beautiful sanctuary to which we will be frequent visitors. 

Absolutely delightful 

Nicky and Jim were quite the best hosts on our one night stay at the exceptionally delightful School House. Perfect location for our needs. Our room was beautifully clean and fresh and the bed superbly comfy.  As for the piping hot delicious breakfast we couldn't fault it. Home made jam too.  Everywhere you looked in the converted school were lovely objects beautiful wallpapers and charming details.

Best School House Experience

What a fantastic place this is to stay. The rooms are superb and clean, the beds are very comfy and the breakfast is delicious! The landlady is very friendly and welcoming and although we were only staying for one night, she couldn’t of done anymore to make our stay a very pleasant one. Highly recommended and an effortless 5 stars.

Beautiful place to stay

Loved the hosts Nicky and Jim , they made our stay a superb experience . A warm welcome on arrival at this splendid Former Victorian School house , wonderfully decorated and furnished to an eclectic style. 
The room was delightful and the best shower ever ! 
Breakfast was equally as good , a massive selection of home made Jams  and marmalade . 
Great stay ! I managed to drive off with the room keys ! Had to go back to return a few hours later …

A visit to family

An excellent bed-and-breakfast stop.  Space may be a little restricted, particularly in the en-suite toilet, but the furnishings and decore are of the highest standard. Breakfast is personally served and excellent.  As an overnight stop en route to Devon or Cornwall we would recommend the School House to anyone.

A comfortable night-stop

We stayed just one night at the School House as part of a road trip and we were grateful for a nice and quiet break in an immaculate B&B. The hosts were very pleasant, and breakfast was beyond expectations.
They don't do evening meals, but there are a number of restaurants/pubs nearby which the hosts have visited and are happy to recommend.
This B&B earns a well -deserved 5-star review from me!



Peaceful, and a beautiful garden

A home-from-home.  We've been going to The School House for 4 years now and have watched Jim & Nicky transform the place.  It's more beautiful each time we return!

Rooms are well-presented, clean, cosy and comfortable with enough space for cases and storage.  Good showers, comfortable beds, delicious and plentiful breakfast.

Highly recommended, yet again.

Our go-to escape

We stayed in the 'Gold Room' for two nights in December 2019 while visiting family in a nearby village. Nicky & Jim are excellent hosts. We were the only guests and they gave us their undivided attention in their beautiful home. Our spotlessly clean room overlooked the village church (no the bells didn't ring).Our bed was so comfy, there was fresh milk for the drinks tray and a great selection of teas to choose from. Would highly recommend this wonderful B&B and can't wait to come again.
