Beautiful house in a lovely location - extremely  stylish and very comfortable - truly magical gardens. Vicki and Simon were so kind and welcoming. We had two wonderful days there and certainly hope to return very soon.

The best b&b I have every stayed in. A beautiful Sussex house set in 6 acres of beautiful grounds to wander in. Vicki and Simon made us very welcome during our two night stay in their beautiful home. Amazing home cooking , even homemade croissants. The pretty bedroom was a delight, every need catered for including NT guide books which were very helpful. Cleanliness 5* .so looking forward to another stay next year.

My husband and I have just returned from staying at Thimbles! We had read some wonderful reviews and found this to be a stunning place to stay! Vicki is so welcoming and thoughtful . The property is lovely and the grounds are stunning .Vicki kindly provided gluten free toast for me as part of a very tasty breakfast!  Do visit - you will be made to feel very welcome and  will have a wonderful stay here.

Having stayed here before we were in no doubt the experience would be excellent and it was. Vicki and Simon make you feel instantly at home with a welcome cup of tea. Our room was light and fresh overlooking the garden which is full of interesting plants. And the en suite - what can I say? It was a delight with an ultra modern roomy shower and toiletries provided too. Breakfast was tasty with home made bread, juice and preserves. A highly recommended experience. Thank you both.

What a choice this was !  Vicky and Simon were so welcoming to their lovely property such that we were made to feel very much at home. Vicky asked us each evening what we wanted for breakfast and produced fruit from the garden, lovely local croissants and the full english with local produce  We were able to explore the large garden and lovely lake at leisure. It proved a great base to visit the many places of interest in Sussex, with Vicky suggesting some suitable pubs / restaurants.  We would highly recommend a visit - as long as you don't prevent our being able to re-visit !

My Wife and I booked into Thimbles B&B for 3 nights Fri, Sat & Sunday night, as we were competing in an archery competition on Saturday & Sunday near by and because we had travelled about 125 miles we decided to say Sunday night as well so we were safe to return fresh Monday Morning, we had to make a diversion as the road the B&B was in was closed for repairs, unfortunately the road we went down we hit a pot hole and spit the car tyre, we made a way to Thimbles where we were greeted by Vicky the owner who was more then helpful in telling us where to get the tyre repaired and also offering to take us to the archery competition if we could not get the tyre repaired in time, but all we well and tyre was fixed.  As for Thimbles it self, the house was fantastic with off road parking with large bedroom with ensuite with all you need TV, WIFI, great views, the garden was the die for with a lake with geese, there was table and chairs where we could have our evening meal.  I would defiantly recommend a say here.  PS: the breakfast was also first class.

Booked Thimbles on a whim and what a great decision that turned out to be! The house and the gardens were nothing short of spectacular. Vicki and Simon couldn't have been more hospitable. We were greeted on arrival with a cup of tea and asked our breakfast preferences before being shown to our beautiful room. The location is ideal for those looking to explore East Sussex and Vicki and Simon are more than happy to share their local knowledge on where to visit and best places to eat. We had a lovely weekend and will definitely stay again in the future.

We wanted to visit Sussex to tour some of its beautiful gardens and Thimbles proved a perfect base.  It is just as it looks in the photographs.  We had the garden room and it is really pretty with a lovely outlook, as well as being comfortable, clean and spacious.  Vicki and Simon are welcoming, natural hosts, and the breakfasts were superb!  The garden around the house is glorious, with a large lake at the bottom.  Wish we had had more time to explore better and in particular to try out the boat!  We ate one evening at the Blackboys Inn in Uckfield and it was great.  We arrived a little early and walked in the Woodland Trust woodland opposite, which whetted the appetite perfectly.  

For those interested in gardens, we visited Bateman's and Sissinghurst (both National Trust) as well as Great Dixter and Perch Hill.  We'd love to come back one day to do Pashley and Nymans, amongst others - and would absolutely stay at Thimbles again if we could!

Pity we could only stay one night but we'll be back! This is a wonderfully comfortable house to stay in and Vicky and Simon made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was first rate. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfy and was a good fit (I'm 6'8" tall). Nice, thoughtful and artistic details everywhere. Very highly recommended!

This was our second stay at Thimbles and it certainly won't be our last.

We had the beautiful garden room again, with our private patio overlooking the lush gardens.   Totally peaceful and relaxing walking around the gardens and looking at the lake.  The room is huge and bright and homely with a massive 6 ft. bed.

Vicki and Simon are perfect hosts and a delight to chat with .... and we had the most delicious breakfasts.   After cooked breakfast one day, we fancied a change and Vicki made us porridge with lots of fresh fruit.   

They made recommendations of where we could visit and we had a couple of great days out following their advice.

A recommendation for dinner would be The Gun Inn, which is not too far away and the food is excellent here and quite reasonable.  You need to book.

I hesitate to review this because it was so good you want to keep it a secret! Beautiful room, excellent shower, delicious home cooked supper (we had cycled from Brighton) and fab breakfast preparing us for our next day of cycling! Vicki is a delightful warm host who is passionate about great food, high quality ingredients, bees, gardening, running and more. We had freshly picked asparagus and lettuce from the garden for our salad! The house and grounds are a joy to be in. We can’t wait to come back.
