The hosts were wonderful and the breakfast was amazing.

Amazing people there to help us check in and they made sure that we had everyrhing that we needed.  Would stay again!

Hosts were very helpful and understanding. Early checkin: No problem! This morning when I asked my waterbottles (bidon) to be filled for my bikeride to Glasgow, they put in especially icecubes! This helped through the day!

A great place to stay with a warm welcome from Mary, a lovely clean and comfortable room, a great night's sleep and a hearty breakfast. I highly recommend.

Surprisingly nice little bed and breakfast in Bathgate.  We chose it because it was not far from Glasgow and about 20 minutes from Edinburgh airport.  But it was very clean and had everything we needed.  Mary met us at the door and settled us in.  The room was slightly small for 4 people, but it worked.  Not far from restaurants and other amenities in downtown Bathgate.  Parking and breakfast included.

The style was really beautiful and it felt really like a home. The room was really spacious and so was the bathroom. The shower was easy to work and the toilet was clean. It was nice also that you could make yourself a cup of tea or coffee in the room.The breakfast table every morning looked amazing it was very delicious and the variety was big. Mary and Donald are very friendly people and so is their daughter Louise who was there for us in the first days of our stay.Stayed with my 2 children of 17 and 14. It's really a place that is suitable for any age. As long as you  keep quite from 11 pm. Which is logic cause all the people need to sleep in the b&b/ house. And that you can walk up the stairs. ( are the more easy ones)The bus stop is nearby and if you are coming with a car it is easy to park.I am glad that i chose to stay at the Gables and i would really recommend it to others.The location is really good cause its also not far from the bigger cities and beautiful nature is nearby as well.And not to forget that the wifi was working really well.

The Gables is a very cute B&B conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Edinburgh airport, and was perfect for our last night in country. It had a room that had beds to accomodate 4 of us in one room, and the area is quiet and the location easy to find. Our host was very flexible with our arrival time and greeted us at the door when we arrived. There were 4 of us winding down a 10 day visit to Scotland with all our accompanying luggage. We were even allowed a bit of additional space to sort through our belongings and repack properly before heading to the airport in the morning. The room and en suite washroom was clean and well appointed. Our host explained the use of everything and was very helpful. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful. We had everything we needed and it was a great final experience to round out our trip! The only downside was that we had quite a bit of luggage to get up the stairs as there is no lift on the property, but most B&B's do not have a lift, and we knew that going in. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Was a nice stop over on our road trip. This little bed and breakfast is operated with love by the owner. Rooms were clean and the communication was good. Breakfast was a typical British breakfast spread (eggs, bacon, beans, etc), though made with much more care than you can get in bigger hotels… good enough that we all finished it which we couldn’t do elsewhere!

We cannot say enough about how wonderful Mary was during our stay, and we stayed here when we first arrived in Edinburgh, and again on our way back home. Comfortable rooms, great service, excellent breakfast. Mary herself was wonderful, friendly, helpful when we were planning our days and travels. We would definitely recommend Gables B&B, and would stay here again. Thank you so much Mary!

We loved our stay at The Gables and will definitely be returning. Everything was fantastic, from the comfy beds to the delicious breakfast.Mary was a brilliant host, and nothing was too much trouble. She had even put a creme egg on our side plates, which was a lovely touch this Easter Sunday.It was much nicer than staying in a generic hotel, and much better value.I can highly recommend The Gables

Stayed for 3 nights. Very nice, friendly and helpful owners,  Spotlessly clean comfortable room with beautiful spacious en suite. Breakfast always included yoghurts, fresh fruit, cereals, selection of juices plus a full cooked option. Plenty of tea, coffee, toasts and jams 😊. Well located, plenty of parking. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay for 3 nights!

Lovely little guest house on the outskirts of Edinburgh, so really easy to get to all the beautiful places this amazing city has to offer. The guest house was clean, tidy & comfortable. Mary was an exceptional host, from the moment we booked to checking out. I can’t speak highly enough about Mary & how personable & professional she is. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you Mary for a wonderful visit!

Lovely guest house

Wonderful B&B Hosts Mary and Donald very accommodating. They whip up a delicious breakfast- fantastic bacon cooked to perfection the perfect egg (everyone liked a good runny yolk) Ladhings of toast and no shortage of butter. As a farmers daughter i appreciated the serving size of butter. Milk juice cereals, fresh fruits and yoghurts made for a hearty breakfast.Room was light airy and spacious. Bathroom immaculate and linen on the beds  crisp & fresh. Ample parking great location for Edinburgh. No complaints only praise. Eager to return.

Perfect B&B great for families or couples getaway

The property is very lovely, clean, and tranquil. The hosts are very helpful and nice. We felt they went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. They have a great balance of giving you space but being there every time you need them. You will find few places as clean and comfortable as this beautiful property. Breakfast were the best. One might want to have their own transport or be prepared to hire cabs since it is a ways from the train stop.
