Found this place as somewhere that was equidistant  for the group and open on a Monday. Lunchtime Basic pub with a restaurant part, friendly welcome and fantastic home cooked food in large quantities. The steak and kidney pie had a suet crust, so half pie half pudding, and was colossal. Nice pint of Butcome .  Ham, egg n chips, scampi and veg lasagna also went down well. Very enjoyable and also dog friendly.

23rd year visiting this fantastic family run business. Refurbished rooms, quality home cooking with very reasonable prices for serious portions. The fishing is out of this world, and the bar / restraunt is a pace to enjoy yourself and meet new friends. Book here you'll love it.

Perfect accommodation just what’s needed. 2 days fishing was great fun. Lovely staff, bar lady was lovely and even offered us a lift to another pub, owners really nice. Defo will return and try the food (we got too involved fishing and didn’t realise it was so late) thanks for lovely night away! 

Had a brilliant two days fishing at this lovely venue, owners and staff very friendly and helpful acomodation clean and adequate breakfast fantastic. Plenty of fish caught and we are already planning the next trip

I performed my Comedy Hypnotist Show at the Watersmeet last night (27th Feb 22) and even though its not my usual kind of venue, we had a blast.

The Owners Gail and Simon couldn't do enough for me. They were very accommodating and generous with their time.

The clients had a show to remember as Gail put on my show to thank them all for their support during the last two years of the Pandemic.

What a lovely bunch of people, we had such a laugh and it was my first Hypnotist Show since October, the last two years have been a challenge.

Thanks to these guys I have a spring in my step for finally performing again and giving people a night to remember.

It's venues like this that need our support, from the great food and selection of drinks, to the welcoming atmosphere.

I will return with my family as I know we will be treated like friends.

Thank you guys, you really made my year! I would have stayed for a drink but had to get home, I will be back.

Just got back from a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Watersmeet. So much food and proper lunch with so many different items and it was the best we’ve had in ages. 
We actually went in the week for lunch as well due to day off work. Had home made pie that was superb and again, so much of it.
Both meals were excellent taste and value

Visited for Sunday lunch. Huge portions of lovely food and very attentive staff. Home cooking par excellence! Will visit again - perhaps one portion for 2 people as there is so much per portion! Definitely worth a visit.

Stayed here as was at an equine event at Hartpury. Location perfect. People really friendly. Accommodation fine and comfortable. Food good. Value for money very good. Would definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Have visited Watersmeet on 3 separate occasions for fishing with my partner, including Sunday roast on one occasion!
The fishing is really good and one advantage is that the dogs, are able to join us here!
The pub is very friendly and the staff are welcoming. Sunday roast dinner was a good tasty portion, leaving us room for apple crumble and custard to finish off the meal. Very close to home in Gloucester

Lovely view from my room across the lake with ducks and swan, the room was luxurious with a super four poster bed, large mirrors and lots of storage. The en suite has a corner bath with plenty of hot water. The pub serves great food at breakfast and full evening menu everything you need for a relaxing stay
