Brilliant staff comfortable rooms good food great location. Parking very convenient and big tescos next door. 7 minutes walk into town centre and 5 minutes from railway station. We eerd visiting family nearby and all worked well

Home from Home. Premier Inns have been the choice of hotel for years, and staying at a Premier Inn is a big part of any trip away. The consistency of hotel standards, and also the quality of food at the attached restaurants adds to a very comfortable stay.

Stayed at the Premier Inn Stroud for 2 nights. A great night sleep, good sized room and a lovely walk in shower. Very friendly staff. Just what I wanted and expected. I would happily stay here again as the location was great with easy parking. 

We booked an accessible room for a gift to the newly weds. The Old Nelson staff was friendly throughout and especially Fi for going out of her way to decorate their room.  They enjoyed their stay. The room was clean and the bed was so so comfortable. The breakfast was great! Thank you 

I used the Old Nelson as a place to drink and eat as I live local. I has an issue with booking a stay at a Premier Inn at Cheltenham. Tracey on reception was extremely helpful and patient with dealing with my issue and managed to get me booked in fir the date I required I cannot thank her enough for her patience, helpfulness and fantastic professional way she helped me.

A beautiful building in a great location with all the positives you'd expect from a Premier Inn. The bed was fantstically comfortable, the room clean an spacious and the staff friendly and polite. A great location in which to explore Stroud and the surrounding Cotswold area.

Stayed only overnight for a wedding in Stroud but the staff had made sure our room was available early. Clean, comfortable, quiet and Manager and other staff were so lovely we are definitely going to stay again. Convenient for the town and plenty of parking. Lovely!

Have stayed here a few times and always had a lovely stay.   Staff friendly and rooms clean and smart.   Beautifully located but close enough to the local town for easy travel. Restaurant literally next door with a great breakfast!

Firstly ALL the staff are amazing, a smile every time and very helpful, whatever the request. The room was very nice and comfortable although the carpet could do with updating, however room was very clean and bathroom was spotless. Stairs were a bit of an issue, but was told no ground floor rooms available but it's the lower ground floor that have no double rooms, these are single rooms I believe, therefore we were at cross purposes. The bathroom had constant hot water, shower pressure was very good. The Hypnos beds were amazingly comfortable, this was the main reason we chose the Premier Inn, really hope they don't change the beds if they ever have an upgrade. The heating was amazing during the cold snap in January, thank goodness for the radiators and not the modern air conditioning/heating system as these never work for me. The breakfast was good and plentiful, evening meal was reasonable for the price. The staff and the bed made this hotel a great stay.

Helpful advice

Very pleasant setting and the room was comfortable and clean. The wi-fi was useless and the hot water took ages to run through but it was good eventually. The breakfast was spoiled by not being hot which was a shame as the quality was not bad. I got a good price for my stay but it is expensive generally .

First time at this hotel

ALL staff amazing and Hypnos beds fantastically comfortable.

Planned a 2 night stay which ended up being 3 nights due to illness. The staff at this hotel couldn’t have been more helpful to us. We spilt a glass of red wine on our bed first night and was very quickly supplied with new duvet and sheets. What should have been a party day and night for us New Year’s Eve was scuppered as I became ill and had to stay in our room. The receptionist very kindly brought me a meal up from the restaurant and staff were great when we needed to add a night on as I couldn’t travel, making sure we didn’t have to move rooms. Thank goodness for a big TV and comfortable bed. I also left a top there which they found and are sending back to me. Well done Stroud, you were great. 

So friendly and helpful

Stayed at the Stroud premiere inn this weekend for a friend’s birthday party.  All 5 of us were really impressed with the staff.  The location is nice and central, the room was comfortable and spotless, shower pressure good, bed very comfortable, but it was the welcome of all the staff that really stood out.  Unfailingly friendly and helpful - put to the test when massive unforecasted snow fall messed up the travel plans of most their guests.  I pretty much never get round to writing reviews but we really appreciated their help and welcome.  Would 100% stay again and recommend.  Good value for money too.
