What a lovely place to stumble on in Cinderford. Beautifully thought out with great appeal to a diner from breakfast , lunch and dinner. Everything is done so well and it shows in the character of the building. Two steaks, perfectly cooked, and a lovely bottle of wine. Alll for a modest £32.50 for two.  The patrons are delightful and their enthusiasm shines through. So modestly priced, and so very good. It does say The Fern Ticket but it is The Bracken Cafe and Wine Bar.

Greeted with lovely décor and a good menu and staff that were very willing to please.  I'm really fussy about my chips but these were cooked to perfection as was the fish in freshly made batter - delicious.  The other family's meals were also fresh and delicious - will be back.

with a bathtub /what a nice idea/ the bathing area still cleverly shielded' by wooden rims - for me a design 💎 plus loads of towels..
 Not sure about wifi but bed was fine, everything perfect clean, some areas outside still being upgraded but definitely not short of space with a lot of spacepotential, a tree house in the garden looks great for kids.

I must say that although we are local and haven't stayed in the rooms the overall atmosphere and friendliness of the place is great! My family and I go in every morning for coffee and always have a Sunday lunch there. Can't beat it! The chefs are great and James the manager is a top bloke!

Sorry to say we left without eating or drinking. Has gone downhill since oowni g, it was a lovely place but we will not be going back...
On ordering good we were advised of several omissions off the menu..which affected all of our choices .
Haven't seen the owner there for several previous visits...staff pleasant enough but it's all looking a bit tired already.

Wednesday lunch treat for elderly parents

Stayed here for one night for work. On the positive side most of the staff were friendly enough and it was clean (ignoring the state of the stairs leading to the room).

The less positive aspect was having a room that lacked the most basic amenities. There was no shower (not even an attachment on the taps), just a huge bath (admittedly a nice bath) in the room which took about 20 minuets to fill. Fine if you have that time but not good if you just want a shower before work. 
There were no toiletries; only the smallest dribble of watered-down hand soap in the loo. 
No hairdryer; I have never stayed in a b&b without at least something thats masquerading as a hairdryer. 
Nowhere to put clothes other than on the coat-hooks... there wasn’t even a lampshade on the light. The tv didn’t work and there was no wifi. Its a good job I had a book!
The room was quiet, it was a weeknight, but I can imagine it would be very noisy if the bar was busy as I could hear everything from the street outside and other people going in and out of their rooms. 

Breakfast was very basic, but acceptable. Again lacking the small touches like an offer of condiments. It was deserted in the bar/restaurant while I was eating breakfast so very quiet...except for the hoovering right next to me while I was eating and the chap (possibly the manager) loudly declaring what a sh** hole the place is alongside other profanities. Not exactly a comfortable atmosphere. 

All in all it was very disappointing, especially given that a few simple things would have made it an ok stay. 

I wouldn’t recommend this as a B&B unless you are willing to BYO on pretty much everything but the bedsheets.
