Wonderful hosts. Delicious and abundant breakfast. Room was fine, but smelled a bit musty in places. They did have air fresheners in the room to help mask the smell. Overall great place though and would stay here again.

The breakfast, the staff, everything was great!

We wish we'd arrived earlier and spent another night because this place was really special! The hosts were exceptionally kind and made us delicious breakfast and shortbread cookies. They had great recommendations for the area. The place itself is in the middle of a peaceful forest near Loch Ness.

Very quiet , tranquil and rural . Owners of property were extremely helpful, polite. Breakfast was amazing!

Beautiful location, great breakfast, kind, helpful and entertaining hostess.We had a bit of a time getting hot water.

Extremely comfortable bed. Room was clean.Outside areas looked a little tired but no real complaints.Owner was very helpful and accommodating - would be happy to stay again if I was in the area.

Great small rustic place in middle of no where. Beware need car.  Look out for the road sign which is easily missed. Access is via a rough gravel track.  Patio under cover with chairs and table.  Small fridge in room with complimentary can of soft drink. Plenty   of milk in fridge too.  Breakfast excellent.  Juices, cereals, starters to include warm cossiant or pancake.  Fresh fruit strawberries,  orange segments, peaches plus cold meats etc. Excellent cooked breakfast to follow complete with haggis and black pudding. Host excellent and suggests places of interest.  Bed melted into very comfortable.  Suggest driving into either Cannich for the Slaters Arms only place to eat in village or drive in the opposite direction to drummanchiot where plenty on offer.Would recommend and use again when in area

Excellent rustic b&b

We stayed here for one night on a stopover to John 'O' Groats, it was lovely.  From the minute you arrive you are made to feel like part of a family. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and can't do enough for you.  The rooms are beautiful and spotless! Sheila recommended Plodda Falls to us which is a short drive away and highly recommended.  The scenery surrounding the area is amazing and no matter how short or long you stay you will love it.   The Breakfast is amazing!

Perfect stop over

This was our first stopover on the NC500. When we pulled in to the car park we were greeted straight away by the lovely lady owner. Im sorry I didn't get her name. The car park has Nessie waiting to greet you also! The lady owner showed   us around our room and was very kind to bring us some drinks from the bar as the restaurant and bar wasn't open when we arrived late in the day. The room decor was fab ,quirky and very scottish. There are also comfy big deck chairs out front for sitting in the gorgeous garden to relax listening to the birds and water features. Bathroom was nice and big also. Bed very cosy. Television had netflix too which is a treat. The surroundings to the lodge has a very natural feel to it owed to the distance it is away from any built up areas. There is absolutely nothing like shops, bars, restaurants within walking distance which was absoloute bliss. Perfect place for switching off and recharging batteries before cracking on with our adventures the following day. Our next morning  got off to a great start with a delicious cooked breakfast with the most scrumptious Stornoway Black pudding in the lovely wee cosy restaurant bar area. Will definitely recommend this to anyone venturing up this way for the perfect escape from life's stresses and struggles. We will be back.

Really lovely place. Quite quirky. The host Sheila is so nice and can’t do enough for you. The place is super clean and the outside area/seating is perfect.  The shower is wonderful. Everything you need inside the accommodation. We only made it to breakfast one of the days (overslept) that was really good. It’s slightly out of the way for us as we do enjoy a drink when we’re away but if you’re after peace and tranquillity in the most beautiful part of the UK you won’t go far wrong with this place.

Peaceful, clean and fabulous hosts

From the minute you arrive until the minute you leave you are made to feel right at home. Sheila is a fantastic host, delivering all you need to know from where things are to the covid rules. The delux suite (Jacobite) was cosy, spacious and with modern bathroom facilities. It offers a really comfy lounge with great facilities and refreshments, also a telly with Netflix and Youtube. The bed was comfy and to wake up to lovely little birds enjoying the feeder right outside in the garden was a lovely sight. We dined there for our evening meal. The food was delicious and home cooked, the wine and beer went down a treat. Great experience. The breakfast was lovely, I had the scrambled egg with smoked Scottish salmon and it was delicious, my wife had some traditional scottish breakfast items which she enjoyed. All in all, a great place, great hosts, fabulous food and ae fond farewell with the gift of a wee Nessie fridge magnet. Great value for money and we will certainly return soon.

Fabulous!! Gem of a Place.

my wife and i had a very good stay at the steadind Highland glen Lodge.We stayed for one night. The room was very nice and the all important. It was clean. We had our evening meal in the restaurant and were very happy with the meal. And at breakfast sheila was very accommodating with us a we didn't want a full breakfast she made us a roll on sausage and bacon rolls. I would not hesitate to book this again.George and Isobel McCormack Denny.

Very Happy Stay

Sheila gave us a warm welcome and set hubby to task in the kitchen, even though they’d closed the restaurant for the night. Don’t be fooled by the photo. This is one of the best and quirkiest places I’ve stayed in. It’s off the beaten track, but only six miles or so from Lochness. We stayed in one of the twin-bed rooms with a nice bathroom and lounge area. Good attention to social-distancing and cleanliness. Cracking continental breakfast, although I suspect the cooked breakfast would have been delicious if the previous nights supper was anything to go by! Thank you Sheila for your advice on where to spend the morning - perfect. Loved this little gem!

Delightful, secluded place to stay

We were made very welcome with nothing too much trouble. One dinner in the restaurant and both breakfasts were excellent. It was also useful to have a licensed bar for a chilled glass of wine in the afternoon. Room was very large and well equipped although one small criticism was the slightly saggy mattress. Obviously that may suite some.

Having stayed here for one night in May, we were keen to return for two nights this time.
I totally love everything about this place, the tranquil setting, cosy bar, warm welcome, fantastic food, great hosts and comfortable, cosy room. 
Perfect for walkers, photographers, and anyone who just wants a nice quiet break to recharge the batteries.
We will be back....again!

Wonderful yet again!

Spent 2 nights in mid August. we enjoyed it very much, mostly because of Sheila who was very helpful and a great cook! The decor of the room was hmmm. ..eclectic ... but the bed was good and everything was spotless and very clean. On top of breakfast (delicious) we also had dinner both nights in the cosy restaurant, everything homemade and absolutely perfect. Would stay there again if in this area.
