Just got home from a few days holiday this hotel is very nice the hosts are brilliant couldn't do enough for us. The Breakfasts are amazing you deffo need to have breakfast at the hotel. would highly recommend had a brill time 😃

Could not fault!! Although this is 2 night minimum stay me and hubby stayed for one night as there was complication with booking.com as booked for two nights and of NO fault of York house hotel! However they did there best and found me and hubby a fab room that was not being booked until next night and we stayed the night! Amazing bath, large tv, sofa! and so very grateful to owners for helping us. They even very kindly obliged to serve breakfast the next morning to us earlier than usual as me and hubby had to check out by 9am to meet large group of friends for a walk un Whitby. Do not hesitate in booking! Local pub hare and hounds just around corner is lovely and u can get bus into Whitby it’s only 3miles. Get it booked in your diary! X x x 

Nothing is perfect, but the folks who run this Hotel are wonderful and kind. Just spent a couple of nights here and whilst some minor maintenance things need doing, it is the off season of January and everyone needs a rest! Our room was comfortable, and our breakfast was both quality and quantity - truly magnificent. Thank you , and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Amazing!! Fabulous hosts!!

Comfortable Bed & Big Breakfast

Brilliant hosts very nice place

This is not what you would class as a hotel, they advertise a restaurant and a bar but neither were open during our stay.  It is more like a basic B & B attached to a caravan site  The first night we were the only guests, our booking did not include breakfast so cant comment on that.  The owners were very friendly but rather unprofessional in their approach to the hosting.  Only one of the windows in the room would open and then we couldn't close it, so just as well there was no rain during our stay.  The shower was hardly useable with just a slow trickle of water.  However the bedding was all fresh and clean.  The room was cleaned and tidied everyday.  The best thing about this property is the  location, there is a good bus route from the village to both Whitby and Robin Hoods bay and Scarborough so you don't have to drive everywhere and have the hassle of parking etc.  There is also a pub in the village that does decent food.  If you lower your expectations and don't expect the facilities advertised to be available then this is a good base to explore the area from.

Good location but very basic accommodation

Booked through Booking.com for what we thought was a nice spot near Whitby,it turned out to be a dated hotel on the edge of a caravan park in the middle of nowhere the room was cramped with a sloping roof and furniture falling to bits. You have to be a television engineer to make the tv work and of course with the sloping roof you bang your head every time you go to switch it on. The light fitting neat the door was full of dead flies I got the impression that the room had not been used for a while,so if you book to stay here do not stay in room 7.

We had a short stay here , the room was lovely , apart from dodgy windows , nice lady when we arrived but did not tell us breakfast had to be ordered the night before and was £9 so we went elsewhere , meant to be a pub there but nearest pub was a car ride away ! Very misleading I wouldn’t go back I’m
Afraid.
