Recommended by family member to all meet up for New Years Day, 14 of us and it was fantabulous. The service first class, the choice of menu was excellent, we all had different dishes and no complaints. I and brother had chipolata sausage with cranberry to start & the best fish & chips ever, so fresh, very tasty & large portions. Attentive staff even though busy, lovely setting, will definitely return. Impressed.

Just had the nicest meal of our holiday here. Rang ahead to ask about allergens because our daughter is allergic to milk and egg, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The adult meals were so tasty and beautifully cooked. Reasonably priced plus have inside and outside kids play areas. Perfect for kids. We will definitely come back. Would highly recommend.

Superb food. Cooked fresh. If you need gluten free then this is the place to visit. Really tasty and confirmed gluten free by the staff when ordering. Great choice of beers and wine. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended. We'll be back whenever we are in the area.

A lovely family run pub, great Sunday carvery home cooked food and lovely fresh made desserts.

Absolutely amazing food! One of the best lunches I’ve ever had in a pub! The burgers were immense and the crispy chilli beef was the best I’ve ever tasted! Wonderful staff, very little waiting time and the homemade chips are out of this world! Can’t recommend highly enough!

We were visiting the Scarborough area recently and it was very quiet everywhere.  So we went out looking for somewhere nice to eat in the car, and found exactly that one lunchtime at The Royal Oak, Moor Road, Near Filey. The food was excellent, hot and lots of it at a reasonable price. The bar area has  a nice atmosphere with a log burner which was kept going by the lovely staff.  It was so good we went back the following lunchtime and had something different off the menu.  Give this place a try if you are in the area, you can spot it from the main road in your car.

Excellent meal, served quickly and politely. Excellent value for money and fabulous family atmosphere. The pub is well maintained,  spotlessly clean. Catering for families of all ages and inclusive of well behaved dogs🥰

Really nice quiet location. Nice spacious and clean cottage. We stayed here during a brass band weekend away and having the cottage to come back to during the mixed weather was really nice. Great hosts and very supportive when we had any questions.

Amazing family run business food top quality,service quality,a big gang (34) of us from our  ⚽ tournament all rocked up together and they knocked it out the park like it was a service for 2.💪🏼🤗😋

The check-in was quick , friendly and efficient, and I was surprised to find I had a one bedroom cottage and not just the bedroom I had assumed - it was well appointed and very comfortable - free parking - ideal for families as it has indoor and outdoor play area

Very Impressed

Best meal of our holiday so far

First time we’ve tried this place. Good value tasty food - standard pub grub with a plentiful kids menu. 5yr olds had scampi -chips and beans - good sized portions .
I would recommend the Royal Oak burger - very well cooked and really filling . Chips are delicious too. Dog friendly but also a no dogs area. Playground outside for kids (an an indoor play area upstairs but that has closed when we were there 6pm ish). Farmers blonde and black sheep on draught. Friendly staff. Fast and efficient service. Plenty of free parking and a steam traction engine to look at as well. Would definitely come back when we have grandkids with us again

Lovely traditional eating pub with great food

Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Royal Oak. From arrival to departure we were made so welcome by the fantastic family who run the business. The cottage we stayed in was immaculate with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Undoubtedly one of the highlights of The Royal Oak is the beautifully cooked and well presented food from the extensive menu. Every meal we had was delicious and the Sunday carvery was one of the best I've eaten anywhere. The hardworking staff served us all with a smile and stopped for a chat even though they were very busy, and it was lovely to see that dogs were welcome in certain areas too. All in all it was a great break with reasonably priced food and drink with the bonus of being ran by a lovely family who clearly take pride in what they do. We will definitely be back.

Fab stay

We stayed here for our Summer holiday. Made to feel welcome as soon as we set foot in the door. Very friendly hosts, Family run pub with all members proving to be accommodating, they couldn't do enough for us. Upon arrival we were informed we'd been upgraded to the Family room as it was available which was a pleasant surprise. Especially for our 10 y.o son who was expecting to be in a bunk bed to now having his own room with a personal tv. We had our own double room with tv, with separate bathroom with bath/shower Breakfast was included, Food was excellent and very tasty with a good selection. Being a Dog friendly pub, It gets very busy day and night. Great location for visiting local coastal towns of Filey, Scarborough ( For Whitby) and Bridlington all Accessible by a convenient local bus service that stops a little walk away from the pub. So we only had to use the car once all the while we were here. Overall we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Royal Oak and our Holiday in North Yorkshire. We will definitely stay here again when we return!!

A Great Place to Stay!

The food was lovely,  all 4 of us enjoyed! Atmosphere good, also dog friendly and had a pool table and dart board.  Only negative would be the carpets needed a good vacuum! It might have been that we just followed some particularly messy eaters? The tables were all spotless. Would definitely go again if ever back in Filey .
