A fantastic stay at Ferryhill Manor House. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Owners were really friendly even though they were very busy with personal stuff! The full English breakfast was very tasty too!! Thanks for supporting our charity. 

Brilliant place to stay. Staff are very welcoming. Food is great home-cooked good portion sizes. Beds and towels very clean. This is the 5th time we have stayed here and look forward to coming back very soon. Thank you Claire & Team for making us feel so welcome.

You can't go wrong for £56 a night here. They were having a disco and karaoke night when we were there but we were just too tired out from driving to enjoy it, which was such a shame as there was plenty of laughter coming from the locals. And Garry was great, letting us have an Indian take away in the dining area👍

New to the area so this was our first visit to the Manor House, we booked in for afternoon tea and we're not disappointed. Staff were very welcoming and there was a lovely atmosphere. Drinks are very reasonably priced and the afternoon tea was a sheer delight, nothing was too much trouble for Gareth, highly recommend and definitely be returning to try out the menu and specials board.

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at the owners and staff were so helpful, had 1 issue with the tele not working but claire and Allan soon sorted that out with a room move nothing was a issue here, my partner ordered breakfast for 10 and because he was sleep when I went downstairs they were more than willing to bring our breakfast to the room for us looked and tasted absolutely delicious Shane we were too rough to eat it 😂 live entertainment cheap and cheerful place to stay will certainly be back! Hopefully hangover free so We can eat our breakfast next time 😂Wish claire and Allan all the luck in the future not that they will need it.

Great pub and hotel, friendly staff with good selection of alcoholic drinks- would recommend if your looking for a cheap and cheerful stay/drink. Comfy beds with good en-suites. Cheap taxis into Durham too.

We've just got back from a 2 night stay at the Manor.
Firstly, we were impressed by Zander, he checked us in professionally and explained everything we needed to know. 
Unfortunately the kitchen was closed due to one chef being on a well earned holiday and the other chef getting pinged and having to isolate.
This was not a big deal as there are many takeaways in the village and we were welcome to take our own food in. 
The room was bright, fresh and clean, and the bed was really comfy.
Kirsty - the manager, made a point of coming to see us to welcome us and to apologise about the kitchen.
We have absolutely no complaints and will certainly be staying again.

My 1st night out since lockdown I felt apprehensive. However Gavin who runs the manor house made me feel very welcome and at ease. They have a spacious garden so you can social distance no problem. I would definitely recommend a visit

Me and my 2 friends went there yesterday and it was a lovely few hours staff were so welcoming and friendly Garath and the team should be sk proud toilets were sparkling social distancing was in full swing beautiful pub and team

Beef Wellington and sea bass risotto  was perfect we challenged Hannah the chef to cook us these two dishes. It was amazing. Thank you to Hannah. Following week we asked her to cook corned beef hash. Good home cooking . we had 93 year old mother with us and she was greatly impressed took her on a trip down memory lane.we are looking forward to next weeks challenge

Visited on the 19th March 2022, been before for a meal with no problems but yesterday was a complete change.
The meal was ordered for 1pm, the starter came out at 1.30, the main course had not come out at 2pm ~nothing mentioned to us for the delays, so a severe lack of communications.

After the meal had been paid for, the members of the party were then informed of the reasons.
I can not fault the younger members of the staff that day, they were very apologetic, but to be honest the blame lies with the management for not informing us that the meal would be late.

A sad visit

We booked this hotel as we were attending a party in spennymoor 
The building looked well worn, outside was piles of rubbish in the car park. The bar area looked scruffy. Lots of junk piled up under the stair. 
We stayed in room 1, very basic! Room could do with updating, a paint, black out blinds & curtains. The bathroom was dated as well, the shower was terrible 
Tbh it was somewhere just to put our head down for the night. 
We didn’t get a front door key, as you need to walk through the bar to get to the rooms, which was abit disappointing. 
We wouldn’t stay again but it served it’s purpose for 1 night

Nothing like the pictures..

No shower gel, carpets very grubby, rooms are good clean, great tea stuff and biscuits etc. Beer was good but no food. Staff were great, polite. Music in the bar was loud and very much for chavs but decor very pleasant. Car park very good. Would I stay again? YES
