We had a lovely time here.  Arrived after a whole day walking to be greeted by friendly and helpful staff.    Not an extensive menu but the food was good.  The rooms were well presented, clean and well decorated with all the amenities you would expect.  Really like the added touch of a brand new toothbrush (I am sure I am not the only one on occasions who has forgotten to pack one!).  A lovely full English breakfast after a good night's sleep meant we were refreshed and ready for another day of walking.  Thank you to everyone at The Roebuck for making our stay an enjoyable one.

Recently taken over by new owners I thought we'd try this place for Sunday lunch.. It's in a lovely area and we did a dog walk beforehand. Food was very good for the price and good selection of beers, wines and ciders. I hear cocktails may be on the menu in the warmer months too so excited to sit in the garden with one of them in the Summer!

August 2021,  our first visit to The Roebuck for quite sometime, it only reopened this week  under new management. 
   First impressions, the pub has been  very tastefully refreshed without losing  it’s character very comfortable, homely and a lovely garden for fine weather.  It was hard to choose from the menu as there was soo much which looked good. Well,  we were soo Impressed, our simple omelette chosen for a ‘LIGHT LUNCH’ was fab and looked and tasted like something you would have been more than happy with in a very expensive restaurant at more than double the price, wish I had taken a photo before we tucked in…
  For us a huge bonus is dogs are allowed inside not just relegated to the garden area.  We’ve booked again for Sunday lunch and looking forward to it……

Wonderful food, very enjoyable. Remember to book as everyone will get in but you. 
Friendly staff, nice surroundings. Good prices.

We have been going to The Roebuck for over 10 years. We heard it was under new Management so we made a reservation for yesterday evening to see what it was like. We are SO glad we went! 
A very warm welcome and the food was AMAZING! My steak was THE best steak I have ever had. Seriously, it was gorgeous!
Considering the pub has only been open a few weeks, they have done an amazing job! We took a bottle of wine with us as they are unable to serve alcohol until October, which wasn't a problem at all.
It is a family run pub with a lovely, warm atmosphere and we really felt at home. Thank you Sara  Ollie and family for a lovely evening. We will definitely be returning! We wish you all the very best with your new adventure at The Roebuck.

I have been lucky enough to be introduced to Sara Oli and their lovely family, and I can honestly say that they are among the nicest people I have ever met. These guys are bringing back a public house that has a long history and in less than a week since reopening the doors I must say that they have done an amazing job. There is a lovely team around them and they are taking in information left right and centre from people with a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that this business comes back to the community. So please, when you leave feedback on your experience whether it be dining or just a drink, this IS an amazing place for ALL the family and your fur babies. Everyone is welcome and these guys really deserve it after pushing through to open with a bang x

We have just spent a weekend in the Roebuck Inn with our dogs. Lovely room and great food.  The Roebuck is a gem situated in beautiful countryside offering great and safe walks. Can’t wait to come here again

We booked for a friends 40th birthday dinner. We did a couple of pubs in wickham square then walked up the old railway tracks to the Roebuck for dinner. There were 4 of us and 3 dogs. They were very accommodating when we got there and quick to answer emails prior to the visit too. The food was absolutely fantastic. Exceptionally cooked and flavoured. Plus the portions were very generous!! We are all real foodies so I was so pleased that everyone loved their meals. Plus it had a good wine list!

Having booked this on a deal wasn’t expecting too much, but was pleasantly surprise with everything. 
Rooms quaint but well appointed. 
Now moving onto the food, evening meal was absolutely lovely, with some very tasty and adventurous twists to savour. For example black pudding mash with the pork belly -Delicious
Breakfasts were huge and equally good. Without a doubt best we’ve had for ages and well sourced with local ingredients. 
Staff very friendly and chatty. 
Well done guys you’ve definitely got the balance right and hope to revisit again

Good Pub B&B on the road into Winchester. Accommodation was newly decorated and attractive standard double room, not a lot of space around the bed. It could also do with some clothes hanging space/cupboards or shelves, also no door hanger in bathroom or shelf for toilet bags.
Groupon offer was as described, Service on first morning breakfast was so slow we couldn’t wait for our toast, however the food was mostly very good although a little expensive for a pub. The 2nd morning James gave us excellent service and everything arrived in good time. All in all a generally good stay.

Detail Below but here are the important bits: If I was rating this place on food alone it would have been 3.5-4 stars, nothing wrong with it and some really nice stuff but it's a pub at the end of the day and it's about more than just food. The reason I have given it 5 stars is because of the fully dog friendly nature, and the attitude of the lads serving who I found out were called Tommy & Alex. Too often these days do we get poor service from sullen faced staff who really have no customer service experience, and for me this ruins a meal out even if the food was 5*. There should be a meme sent around to all UK people who need to interact with the public encouraging them to "Be More Tommy & Alex"
Now for the detail if you need it:
It was the end of the Bank Holiday weekend, and we wanted somewhere to pop into for a bite to eat with the family after a dog walk. Like many places now The Roebuck claims to be dog friendly, this claim has various meanings but we decided to give it a go.
Parked up in the car park and had a look round for the way to reach Wickham Railway for the walk, couldn't spot it so my wife decided to ask in the pub (first interaction with staff). She came out and called us in the direction of the walk while commenting on how nice the young lad she had spoken to was. Came back after an hour and wandered into the pub with Toby and the children. Toby(the dog) did his usual investigation of a new place as we settled down at our table. 
The menu was aimed at the Sunday roast items but with enough others to give choice for all. Two lads were on duty and both were welcoming to us and made a fuss of Toby. They brought him a fresh bowl of water without us asking which Toby appreciated as his awful owners left his water in the car. Food wise we ordered the Katsu chicken Kiev, Greek salad, ham, egg and chips, and I had two sides as I wasn't massively hungry, these were halloumi fries and scotch eggs. 
Everyone enjoyed their meals the highlights were the scotch eggs, greek salad, and the triple cooked chips. We also had desserts that were really tasty as well.
